I think this is a great phone for those that are not ready to dive into the dynamic island and just want a large screen, significantly lighter phone than the pro max, with great battery life. I’m sure the internals of the phone have been totally re-designed like the regular iPhone 14 which makes the cost of repairability much less giving you better insurance against drops. According to ifixit the regular 14 is the most repairable phone since the iPhone 7.

I have a back up regular iPhone 13. If I can get a good sum for it I might go for the detergent blue 14 plus 128gb.

Meanwhile I’m still looking for a 14 Pro Max in purple. Sold out at every Apple Store near me in Houston.

I really don't understand this phone as it's only $170 for the pro max. I understood the mini as there wasn't a pro size that small if that was your main preference.

You really that butthurt on what others buy?

You’d think after being on a forum for 16 years, you’d realize users have a choice to buy whatever they want and it really won’t hurt you.

I mean, if someone’s purchase physically hurt you, you might wanna contact authorities and let them know. I’m sure the bruises are gone and you won’t have much of a case.

👊😥👍
I dont care what people do, but this phone purchase makes no sense unless you really are on a budget. And if someone is on a budget they should probably pass on this phone lol (but maybe that’s why they are on a budget - ie: bad decisions)

Update: all 3 customers who ordered order the 14 Plus have now received them.
Funny, but I can’t fathom why people want the much heavier stainless steel options, especially since they’ll see the trim twice—when putting the case on and taking it off (unless they buy Apple cases, since they have to replace those at least once after the corners wear and reveal sharp edges)

It's a great way to get a larger iPhone but save $200 (22% higher price than 14 Plus). Another good option to consider is getting a 13 Pro Max which tends to price around just $100 more than the 14 Plus (or 11% higher than the 14 Plus). 13 Pro Max gives you pretty much all of the same but better camera setup and more premium feel (IMO).

Up until last year, I always went base model with lowest storage because that was what I was comfortable buying. I’m blessed enough the last two years to splurge and get what I want.

But a lot of people wanting to join the Apple ecosystem and/or needing an upgrade may find at least the new 14 Plus more appealing on a budget. Huge upgrade from last year for most of us? No. But for those wanting a large screen for a long time on a budget are probably pretty excited to get a new 14 Plus.

Sure, we can look at $170-$200 between a Plus and a Pro Max as not that much and why not just get a Max. But after that extra $200, taxes and AppleCare+ you’re talking more like a $500-$600 difference.

JMO. 👊😬👍

I think the disconnect for some people is they feel everyone values the same things. Which of course is not the case. Some value the 120hz display rate and others like a lighter form factor over the pros features.

Here’s a vehicle example. Some value fuel efficiency over horsepower. Stuff like that

Actually after all that you are still only about $200. The thing is the difference should be at least $400. Should be $599 for the iPhone 14.

Don’t get this phone at all, better to go for 13 pro max or new 14 pro max for not much more

Not a lot of options to buy a new Unlocked iPhone 13 pro Max here in Canada.

The 14 Pro Max is $300 more than the 14 Plus. That's a pretty good savings.

I'm choosing the 14 plus over the 14 pro max for one main reason, the weight. Had the 12 pro Max and hated how heavy it was.

I know for a fact that there are 2 reasons people may choose the 14+ over the Max, besides price. The 14+ is Lighter in weight and it also might come in their favorite colour.

Ohhh, we’re playing ‘The Should Game’? Exciting. I wanna join!!!

People “should” quit belittling others on how they spend money. People “should” also start their own trillion dollar company and price products the way they think they “should” be priced. “Should” I carry on? You “should” calculate the difference between the two models and see what you get.

Here, $238.15 is the difference on a 14PM 128gb and a 14 Plus 128gb, both with tax and AC. Assuming the same amount of people that buy base models buy AC as often as Pro buyers. If they don’t that puts it over $400 in savings. My numbers may have been off, but my point wasn’t.

👊😙👍

The comments in this thread is petty, pedantic, and quite frankly pathetic. I knew I wanted the 14 Pro Max because it supported my specific use case, but other people have different needs thus Apple having different phone options. If you’re so invested in what phone options people prefer, you most likely have no life and you should evaluate yourself 🙄

People like big screen phones. This will sell well after people realize it’s an option. It’ll be an easy upsell form the regular 14.
If the 14 Plus sells well, there could be a market for an SE Plus.

If you look at how many Android users have mid-range phones with large displays, they might consider alternatives at the right price.
