Not quite the same excitement as receiving a US spec phone. Imagine holding a phone with no SIM slot. Can’t get that feeling in AU/NZ.

or at least 300? lolActually after all that you are still only about $200. The thing is the difference should be at least $400. Should be $599 for the iPhone 14.
same have friends who will have Pros and then a plus and trade off... different tools for different projects?I know a few friends who want the big screen without the weight of the Pro Max, so they’re eying this one as an option. Good to have options.
Well, in Australia, the price difference of 512GB iphone 14 plus is just $400 away from iPhone 14 pro max, and the starting price is already $2100, meaning iphone 14 plus is a terrible value compared to iPhone 14 pro max where you get way more features. And for used iPhone 13 Pro Max, you can save even more to get more features. I don’t even know the point of that phone in most other markets tbh.Already played with a unit and I really liked it. I think it's a good option for someone who wants to upgrade, but doesn't want to spend a kidney on a Pro.
I think almost everyone carries their phone with them all day, no matter what size the city. I really don’t get the weight thing. It’s a phone. It’s not heavy at all. If you can’t hold it, maybe you should start working out with some hand grips because your hands must be really weak.I got it because it's lighter, but has a bigger screen, and has better battery. Most people maybe don't live in a big city, so maybe you don't carry your phone with you all day, but those who live in big cities and travel by transit do. So, the weight can really become noticeable.
Well said! Too many people on here don’t get out to often enough!I think the tech nerds on this site forget that not everyone needs or wants $1000+ phone. Some people might just want a phone with a big screen because they can’t quite see everything on a small screen. Some people might just want better battery life.
Not everyone is going to run Geekbench 5 while doing a battery drain test and at the same time monitoring battery health on the first day they have the phone 😂😂😂😂🤦♂️

Glad you’re happy with your purchase though. Congrats!
In your use case the weight doesn't make a difference. But if you'd followed the theme of this thread, you'd realise that it's horses for courses.I think almost everyone carries their phone with them all day, no matter what size the city. You've had a shocker here. What's this malarkey? If you can’t hold it, maybe you should start working out with some hand grips because your hands must be really weak.
Now I imagine Apple starting to sell refurbished kidneys.I'd trade a kidney. I don't even know what kidneys do, but I totally know what iPhone 14 Pro Max can do!
Yup. I know that’s been reported as a possibility before but I agree with you. With the move away from the mini, it feels like Apple is paving the way for bigger screen across the board, including the SE next year. I also wouldn’t be surprised if the 15 Pro/Ultra sees a bump.If the 14 Plus sells well, there could be a market for an SE Plus.
If you look at how many Android users have mid-range phones with large displays, they might consider alternatives at the right price.
Your comment doesn’t even make sense. I can say the only reason why someone wouldn’t buy a luxury car is there on a budget. And if someone is on a budget they probably should pass on a non-luxury car because that’s why they’re on a budget you know bad decisions like they didn’t go to college or mary into a rich family. Those silly people on a budget don’t need a car, right?I dont care what people do, but this phone purchase makes no sense unless you really are on a budget. And if someone is on a budget they should probably pass on this phone lol (but maybe that’s why they are on a budget - ie: bad decisions)
I’m guessing you’re being sarcastic but as someone who owns an iPhone 14 Pro Max without a SIM slot, it only makes a difference in the first few minutes of set up. Even on my previous iPhone with a SIM slot I wasn’t using it because I used the eSIM. The phone works exactly the same. Not quite the same excitement as receiving a US spec phone. Imagine holding a phone with no SIM slot. Can’t get that feeling in AU/NZ.
And the reports on the crazy battery life. I think the 14 Plus will sell really well over the holidays.People like big screen phones. This will sell well after people realize it’s an option. It’ll be an easy upsell form the regular 14.
While you could be right, I personally doubt Apple will be going this route any time soon.If the 14 Plus sells well, there could be a market for an SE Plus.

Isn’t the rumor that the next SE will be based on the XR/11?If the 14 Plus sells well, there could be a market for an SE Plus.

No you did not.I paid $300 for a 256gb 14 Pro Max
Bad decisions like spending too much on a phone with tech you don’t really need?I dont care what people do, but this phone purchase makes no sense unless you really are on a budget. I agree with buying the phone outright. I cannot deal with US carriers contracts. Of course I do Apple installments on Apple Card to get the 3% and then pay it off immediately.Wonder how many people here are bragging with their pro max 36 month payment plan instead of just buying a phone outright.
No, if you travel by car, that's a big chunk of your time it's not in your hands or weighing down your pockets.I think almost everyone carries their phone with them all day, no matter what size the city.
