Camera bump has never bothered me, I've always got it in a case that effectively hides it.

But the leaked renders by prosser were just dumb. mobile camera technology didn't magically evolve year over year to shrink that much to be flush - in fact its still getting thicker to get better cameras.

Remember how tiny the bump was on the iPhone 6 and how much of a controversy that was?

Time for Apple to differentiate iPhones like MacBook models. iPhone Air: thin and light. iPhone Pro: big screen and big camera.

Those camera bumps rubbing on your leg in your pocket look painful. Seriously as what point does the camera become good enough that it is accepted? Yes you can keep getting bigger and bigger lenses to improve quality but the trade off is a handheld mobile device becoming unwieldy and 99% of the time you aren't using the camera. The current Pros are far too heavy and uncomfortable to hold (and carry) as it is. It's straight up bad design.

The only hope we have is if they use aluminium this time around to try and reduce the weight.

If we get a better camera who cares? Most people use a case that "levels out" their phone. I don't see many people using the iphone flat on a table to type or get much done anyway.

Anything to boost specs for the camera.

Somehow we went from phones with computer capabilities to cameras with computer capabilities that can also make calls. The switch to put so much focus on the camera is a major reason why I stopped buying phones every year or even every other year.
Yeah, what is Apple's obsession with the camera? Are they trying to run camera manufacturers like Cannon & Nikon out of business?

Thicker design?!? But, how can we have a Keynote without Apple telling us what ridiculous percentage thinner the new model is? This is getting out of hand!
Apple hasn't done that in years. Aside from 1 or 2 models, phones have mostly gotten thicker since the iPhone 6.

Nice exclamation point notch!

It’s not a notch, it’s a pill and a point!

! Notch !

I don’t mind the notch. I’m digging my 13PM, so unless its an early free upgrade, I see no compelling reason…

To everyone complaining that iPhones are getting too big and/or heavy: you got your chance to make your point by buying an iPhone 12/13 mini. Apparently, too few of you did.

Not really. What if I still want a bigger phone that just isn't as heavy? Hopefully that rumor about replacing the stainless steel frame with titanium comes true some day.

I agree with your point if it’s only the 12 or 13 phone you are referring to with AC+. Most others will take the inconvenience of a case.

Many of us don’t have hundreds of dollars to give out for broken glass replacement on the phone with a drop a case could have prevented, which also would cost more than a penicillin shot for an STD, including the office visit.
What I meant is that i always had a slim leather pouch -Siena- ...but never a "case".

So do we want a thicker design or not? Complaints that it's getting too thin and you want it thicker to get a bigger battery, now we're complaining that it's too thick / brickgate...make up your damn minds.
In my opinion it does look a tad ridiculous...like a camera bump on a camera bump...
The iPhone 6 was too thin. Current models are too thick. I think the X was a good balance between the two.

I think the pendulum has swung too much in the thicker direction at this point. I remember when I bought my 11 Pro Max it was starting to feel too thick and heavy and it turns out they've gone thicker with the 12 and even thicker with the 13, and now they want to go even thicker?

There's an ideal middle ground and I think the 11 Pro was it. Good battery life without being too thick and heavy. This worries me a bit because my 11 Pro Max is going to be 3 years old this year and I'm going to want to upgrade and I don't want to lose screen size to avoid a massively heavy phone.

Well a bigger phone will always be heavier than a smaller phone. Also, the „regular“ (non-pro) iPhone is already significantly lighter than the iPhone Pro. If you say that you‘d like an iPhone Pro but in a lighter enclosure (i.e. aluminium or titanium instead of steel), I would like to see that, too. As premium as the steel feels in hand, it does make the device heavier.

I use a case but what's funny is Apple's own cases for the Pro Max still have a camera bump so the phone can still wobble in the case. It would be a pretty thick case to fully eliminate wobble and still protect the lenses but I suppose they do exist but if you use a MagSafe charger then the options get smaller.

I don't mind a taller/thicker camera bump if that means we are getting a lense with decent mechanical zoom as was rumored before. Improved optics is valid enough reason for such changes.

Is the upgrade of this year, really and upgrade?
Using the same CPU in this year’s entry model?. We have reached the end of improvement capabilities at Apple.

Because the screens are too small for 90% of people. Most people would rather buy a heavier phone than put up with looking at such a small screen. The X was a great thickness and had a camera bump most people could live with. The mini is in no way a substitute for the Pro or Max models and it's absolutely silly to suggest so.
