If Apple would release an updated 1st Gen iPhone SE (2016) with A15+6GB, 12MP FaceTime and main cameras, 256GB option, with 5G (or even without), I would buy immediately, as would dozens, possibly hundreds of others! Seriously, though, I’d buy one. The iPhone XS continues to be my favorite of the notch era. #ShoutoutTo3DTouch

I can't get over how awful that pill + hole design is, I refuse to believe it's real
Agreed it seems to serve no useful purpose except it's different. The pixels between the pill and dot are useless as well as the ones above them. Overall a really ugly design and I do not believe it's true, I think it will morph into a notch which is an iconic iPhone look.

where’s the drool reaction when you need it

EDIT: For some reason the XS’s OLED made my eyes bleed and I had to return it immediately but these newer ones seem fine. Earlier power-width modulation, perhaps, or maybe just down to personal preference?

@urnotl33t whoa, I moved from iPhone 6 to SE 2016, too. Hated the 6 pretty bad having come from the iPhone 5 (my first iPhone 🥰). Felt very Androidish 😂

The notch is so much cleaner looking and more refined, and is now part of a design language that is widely accepted and expected. Not feeling the holes and bits. I guess I'll get used to it, if this change is true.

Personally I think the hole punch design looks ugly. Might be unpopular opinion but I prefer the notch, or maybe I'm just used to it by now.

This is irrelevant to the vast majority of people that put a case on it.
I have an Apple case on my 13 Pro Max so that I can continue to use MagSafe charging, and it leaves the camera bump pronounced. That said, it sits flatter then if the case was not on it but it still wobbles. But yeah, I always have a case on my phone so the issue is downplayed somewhat for me but not entirely eliminated. Probably a thicker case from a third party would 100% solve it but that's going to make the phone overall pretty thick.

Can we at least get rid of the steel material on the Pro models and use titanium to reduce the weight? Steel doesn't justify premium prices IMO.
I think at this point replacing steel with titanium is becoming a necessity as weight increasingly becomes a disadvantage with the Pro models. I just wonder if they can get the 14 Pro down to around the 11 Pro weight by using titanium.

Thicker design?!? But, how can we have a Keynote without Apple telling us what ridiculous percentage thinner the new model is? This is getting out of hand!
With the exception of the iPhone 12, iPhones have gotten thicker every generation from 6 on. That's the trend. People must have gotten really traumatized by the thinning over the first few generations, mainly to the iPhone 6. Don't worry though, at the rate we are going we'll have bricks you can knock someone out with soon enough.

The increase in size and weight from the 11 Pro Max to the 13 Pro Max is what made me finally switch to the smaller phone (13 Pro) and I don't regret it one bit. Knowing that it will be going even further with the 14 Pro's is disappointing.

The iPhone is the one product where I do think decreasing the weight and thickness is justified.
Or at least making it lighter by replacing the steel with titanium. That would be a noticeable improvement.

Finally function over form! Sorry I thought I was in the Mac Pro forum (a little bit of teasing).

As much as I love the SE1 (I owned 2), the battery life of this phone would be atrocious ?

At this rate the next MacBook might be thinner than the next iPhone. I mean.... there is a very slim minority of iPhone users that are not professional Instagram influencers and/or filming blockbuster movies. It is very small userbase, I know, but some people just want a nice phone that can do messengers and games and apps and stuff. You know - stuff you don't need a camera for. Sound's ridiculous, I know, but it's true.

Ah well, I'll just stick with me SE2. Forever, if I must.

Titanium case sounds nice, but I'd even be happy with Aluminum... My 11 Pro is significantly heavier than my wife's bigger 12. I could care less for a "premium frame" that has absolutely no effect on the performance of the device. No idea why people want a heavier phone...

Apple basically keeps selling the same body for many years. Sure, there are annual improvements to the camera; but they are so tiny that I hardly notice any significant differences. I guess this is a good thing, as Steve Jobs toted in the original launch of the iPhone; it’s the ability to change the software 6 months down the road if you want to.

There is a formulae here though, because people still upgrade regardless there is a minor change to the design or not.

I just look at the pics my iPhone X captures and ask my self every September, is it really time to upgrade?
