You cannot deduce from this forum how widespread these issue are.my 14 pro max is due for delivery (maybe) tomorrow but after seeing/reading all the issues, tempted to go into the store and return it and go buy an IPhone 13 Pro Max.

YES! It was the Chase app. Oh gods.Same for me. Was it the Chase app? They have had real problems validating IDs because the camera won't focus properly. Chase UK Status
Work from home quality. This is probably the first iPhone to be developed mostly during Covid.
Now we know why Cook is adamant about workers returning to the office. "Working" from the beach is over. Tim Cook has all the data on the lack of productivity and employee disengagement. Macrumors forum posters that claim they know how to run Apple better are not smarter than Tim Cook.
I'm skipping the iPhone 14 and probably also the iPhone 15. I'll buy the iPhone 16 because it'll be the first iPhone designed and produced with workers in the office.
What about if I don’t use those three mentioned apps?
i took my 12 pro in and they said nothing was wrong with it. they told me it wasnt a macro lense and i needed to hold phone farther away and zoom in and then crop....I don’t know is it has caused any damage yet, close focus is still shot. Just as bad as it was with my 12Pro. So much for these “PRO CAMERAS”
You can return the phone for 14 days after purchase, no questions asked. Then you don’t have to explain anything.I had this happen with the Chase UK app to. But hasn’t happened since and I can’t replicate it. The camera seems to be working as expected otherwise.
How would I know if it’s caused any damage? Surely if I took it to apple and it was all working perfectly they wouldn’t want to fix or change anything, understandably so. As it is, I couldn’t prove any damage or issue it seems.
Interesting tweet on this from Halide:
According to them, it’s a hardware issue with the OIS module. I personally don’t seem to have the problem (in Instagram, anyway).
Do we know how many suppliers there are of the camera module(s)?Interesting tweet on this from Halide:

Good point. Shame they wouldn’t have any stock for about a month or so. I don’t have a backup phone to use. Could become very annoying. You can return the phone for 14 days after purchase, no questions asked. Then you don’t have to explain anything.
Something to consider ofcourse
To be fair, a lot of people are complaining about their cameras rattling on Reddit as well. Some have even posted videos as well. You cannot deduce from this forum how widespread these issue are.
You shouldn’t need to do a workout on a premium phone that you paid a premium price for. Just take it to Apple and they will either replace it or refund it.Workaround?:
Removing the camera permission for third-party Apps might work? To be able to continue using the App...
At least till Apple fixes it, simply to save your camera lens from damage.
There are bugs, and then there are bugs which could physically damage the device. This is more serious than your standard “feature x doesn’t work” bug.Why is it every year, when we know there will be bugs with new iPhones, people jump to the “iPhones are crap and Apple is going down hill?”
We know there will be both hardware and software bugs. How could there not be when you’re selling 10s of millions of devices per quarter.
