No idea whether it's touch or not because I don't use a controller, but I can tell you it disappears entirely if screen recording is switched on because that appears to switch off ProMotion and forces a consistent 120 HZ onto the display. So the issue would is related to ProMotion in some way or another.Does the m2 iPad have the same touch input issue as the iPhone? If you use a controller, is it smooth?
And that's another reason for why they should implement choosing between locking 120 Frames or 60, besides fixing adaptive frame system. No idea whether it's touch or not because I don't use a controller, but I can tell you it disappears entirely if screen recording is switched on because that appears to switch off ProMotion and forces a consistent 120 HZ onto the display. Screen recording is not a solution however, because games that otherwise don't lag start lagging due to how much extra load recording puts onto the device.
I'm glad their corporate earnings came out the way they did today, they deserve another quarter of decline. We're at page 10 here, there are multiple other threads with equally many pages or more, it's been 6 months now and they're still not even acknowledging something that basically entirely wrecks an entire use case for these devices (i.e. gaming).
Base level Apple support isn't going to know anything other than basics stuff you could find with a google search. You have to keep escalating this to get someone who knows what you're talking about. I blame tech reviewers/writers, they should've spotted this by now and reported on it.I don't understand how a multi-billion dollar company can ignore such a significant problem for so long, instead of fixing everything a week after the first complaint. I called apple support and there operators do not know anything about this problem, as if it is new. Went through all of their recommended steps and after that didn't work left feedback to the tech department, looks like I'm the only one addressing this issue directly to them. As always at Apple, no one knows anything and there is no official information on this issue.
I tested scrolling in safari and swiping on the home screen, the results are:14 pro Stutters while scrolling. Is this problem only for me?
Thanks, very interesting observation. Looks like apple limiting true 120hz for rare occasions, that is i feel stutter cause it is 80fps.I tested scrolling in safari and swiping on the home screen, the results are:
• no screen recording - no swipes/scrolls 60hz, during swipes and scrolls maximum 80hz
• with screen recording - no swipe/scroll 60hz, during swipe and scroll maximum 120hz
without screen recording, the iPhone cannot do honest 120 hz, it's just ridiculous
Screenshots (while scrolling) with and without screen recording
iPhone 14 pro max.
I can’t explain how much I am tired of Apple ****.16.4 beta same issues in wild rift……
I agree with this 100%.And that's another reason for why they should implement choosing between locking 120 Frames or 60, besides fixing adaptive frame system.
Tell me it won't be the best thing to have these 3 options?:
1. Adaptive framerate (ProMotion)
2. High framerate (120 lock)
3. Standard framerate (60 lock)
That would be the coolest thing, that any other Android phone supporting 120 hz already have it...
See that’s the thing I don’t understand because my iPhone 14 pro max stutters like hell playing Genshin. So unless I got a defective phone I don’t know how he doesn’t have stutter as well. And this FPS Test?
Yeah makes no senseSee that’s the thing I don’t understand because my iPhone 14 pro max stutters like hell playing Genshin. So unless I got a defective phone I don’t know how he doesn’t have stutter as well.
I've tried a couple iPhone 14 Pros in stores that all had this issue. My friend's 14 Pro also has this so i wouldn't bother trying to get a replacement. The reason reviewers don't notice it is because A) Most people can't notice framedrops/framepacing/stutters and B) framerate software will not pick this up since its a display software issue, not a performance issue. It's the same way in PC gaming if your high refresh rate monitor isn't set up properly, your frame rate software will show a smooth high FPS count, yet it will still look choppy and stutter for you.So this is the thing I’m trying to understand if this a OS problem so they just need to find a fix with an update or a lot of iPhones are defective cause it doesn’t make sense in reviews everyone seems to be playing fine and the phone works perfectly plus Apple has sorted out many bugs like the camera shake , and other problems and there’s no official news on a future fix so I’m very worried , I need you’re guys opinion should I try and get a replacement or what cause this isn’t looking good it’s been months and this hasn’t been fixed yet
Thanks for you’re reply I wanted to ask you when do you think they’ll figure out a fix with an update will it take weeks months ?I've tried a couple iPhone 14 Pros in stores that all had this issue.
