The first numbers are from iPhone 15,3 that is the iPhone 14 with the full A15 under better thermals scaling
And the iphone 14 pro scores 5455 in multi core
At least Apple up their game with a better thermals since the iphone 12 series

Sounds like you have an issue given that my iPod Touch, which is running a downclocked A10 with no e-cores, doesn't struggle with those things.
Could be though my dad's iPhone 8 has the same issues plus severe battery degradation.

I also didn't specify that doesn't always do it but there's some inverse square happening where how important it is to do something determines how slowly it'll do it. I'll be on a call at work and need to send a photo right away and it would take less time to send a polaroid via pigeon.

What a sad update. I can see low sales and Apple being forced to come out with the next gen phone sooner than the typically timeframe.
Don’t base sales on one test. Geekbench is sort of a joke now. Sales will be good as the phone has a bunch of new first time features. Much lower light camera’s and using autofocus for the first time. The 48MP Sensor compared to 12MP. Filming with 48MP with extra AI doing the background work and lower light capabilities is going to give the new camera a big edge in trick AI enhanced photos. The A16 Chip is much more energy efficient for more battery life as it’s 4nm instead of 5nm and the GPU is about 40-50% faster.

There’s also the new emergency Satellite service that can work virtually anywhere in the world that needs no cell signal or carrier. That alone will drive in big sales. Always on Display, Now up to 2000 nits instead of 1200 nits so you can see it in sunlight. The memory is LPDDR5 is even more power-efficient than LPDDR4x with 50% more bandwidth, Dynamic Voltage Scaling (DVS), it adjusts the voltage and in turn the memory frequency as per load. When you do video and photo editing or games the faster speed and extended battery life will become more apparent. The new features will be a strong seller.

I am going to skip the iPhone 14 Pro this year. Dynamic Island and Camera improvements are tempting, but not worth it for me to upgrade from my 13 Pro. Hopefully the 15 will come with more useful improvements and finally ditch the lighting connector.

I'm glad I held off on going from the 12 Pro to the 13 Pro Max. It's hard to believe this thing can get much faster, but I guess I'll find out on Friday 😀

iPhone 12 Pro:
Single-Core Score= 1574
Multi-Core Score= 3873

iPhone 14 Pro Max:
Single-Core Score= 1879
Multi-Core Score= 4659

They improved most in power efficiency, which I’d actually prefer at this point. Let’s be honest, even an Iphone XS doesn’t feel sluggish. When’s the last time you used an iPhone that did??
Has it improved power efficiency? They’re charging $1000 for the same phone. 🤔

Not really, because people mistakingly think that the A16 is more efficient across the board. If you paid close attention to the keynote, Apple only mentioned the performance cores being 20% more efficient compared to the A15.

They didn't say anything about the efficiency cores being improved, which do get used pretty much all the time (P-cores only get used when gaming or using the camera/rendering). They only compared them to Qualcomm and Samsung's E-cores and regurgitated the same stuff they say every year: "it's so much more efficient and faster!!!".

Meaning in regular everyday use, the A16 isn't any more efficient than the A15 (also thanks to "4nm" actually being third-generation 5nm, marketing sure is doing it's job well).

I honestly question the average attention span here.
