I've said it before and I'll say it again. Apple needs to stop trying to release new hardware and major iOS versions at the same time. They clearly cannot manage to do them simultaneously. Release the new phones with stable software and then do the upgrade later. Save everyone a lot of headaches.
Problem is new hardware usually needs new software. So you would need a new software release anyway...

A bit off-topic : Spotlight Search is also very slow in iOS 16, on my iPhone 12.
It's like iOS 16 just became slow in general.
Even Spotlight and Mail Search on macOS Monterey is atrociously slow since the last few weeks on M1. It was instantaneous before.

It's still so weird to me that we can all have such profoundly different experiences with new iPhones. Obviously, everyone uses their phones differently and different artifacts linger from different apps, etc., etc., but yeah... I don't have any camera issues whatsoever, but my battery life is *atrocious* on the 14 Pro. Wake up at 8, use it here and there throughout the day, and since Friday, it's died at around 4pm each day... I can literally watch the battery drain just sitting on the Home Screen.

Anyway, as others have said, I'm sure they'll fix the camera and battery issues with a software update... just strange that with all the beta testing, such large issues are still arising 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’m not able to reproduce this issue with 16.1 beta on my 14 Pro, so maybe it was fixed?

Camera has been unreliable for me on iPhone 13 Pro under iOS 16.

Had to use a third party camera app to take a picture while on a call on a VoIP app, because Camera just kept crashing and relaunching.

I sincerely regret installing this update. Apple is even making me question my investment in their whole ecosystem at this point.
You can still roll back to iOS 15 though right?

Interesting I am getting similar or better numbers with my 14 ProMax I end with around 60 -55 percent at days end and i use It regularly all day.

iOS 16 is still bugged, everything will be fixed. Waiting for iOS 16.1. Right now I have issue with dictation and performance on my 13.

All of these issues happened last year as well for me (Airdrop, Camera Slownesses) when getting the 13 Pro.

Eventually subsided but weird.

I'm jealous! What's even worse is I shut off "always on display" from the get-go, and it doesn't seem to help whatsoever. I'm reinstalling the 16.0.1 IPSW to see if it helps, so... fingers crossed 🫰🏻

This is just outright comical at this point. Hell, Scott Forstall was thrown under the bus for FAR less than this.

Please, by a show of hands, who still wants to defend Craig Fedherigi?
Craig is an incredible leader, it is just software/OS world which is complex. The real issue is fixed release dates, Apple should be waited a month and iOS16 would be ok.

I’m curious to how many reports of issues MR requires to publish an article implying something is a wider spread issue?
I think the fact that MR was able to reproduce the issue is why they felt safe posting it.

As a dev, if I get a report of something and I can reproduce it fairly easily then my confidence is high that the issue is widespread.

Well I assume until T-Mobile will deliver my 14 Pro Max all issues will be resolved.
How considerate of them

Apple is releasing too many combinations of phone hardware. Thus includes different models by region and multiple storage options. Too many combinations to test adequately. Quality was much better when the product line was simple.

I have seen non of the many problems supposedly happening with my 14 ProMax always issues for a few which seem to get sensationalized here a bit not that if you are having problems you are happy
If any major issue was affecting everybody that would be a total failure of QC. Great QC should ensure nobody has any issues. Currently Apple QC obviously is not great.

Note to self - do not rush to update to newest iphone until they work out all the bugs / new issues.

funny company, your funny iphone has some funny bugs

...Seriously, how does this phone have so many issues?

I thankfully haven't experienced any of these issues (14 Pro Max).
I know my sister hasn't been too impressed with the 14 Pro battery life, she did restore via iCloud backup (I don't know if that could be something to do with it). I've told her to wait a few days to see if things improve
My battery life has been fine though

iOS 16 has been such a buggy release.

I have it on my iPhone 13 Pro Max too and it is horrible. Battery is suffering too, it is less than 50 % already by noon, before I could get home late in the afternoon with 50-60 % charge remaining.
In terms of the battery dying... that's just Apple trying to get you to upgrade!
