That's exactly what Apple wants you to think. But since you don't have the option to go back down to the original base tier at the original price... it's a price hike.If it starts at $1099 at 256GB storage, then it’s not a price hike.

Given how they increased the price of the new MacBook Air for the same storage, this will never happen although I’d be happy to be wrong though.
Wow. How do you manage that? My phone takes up all of my 64GB even though I’m using iCloud for everything.Lol, I have iPhone 13 PM with 128gb of storage, and I have 100gb free. I will never find a way to fill all that space.
That $100 upgrade doesn't cost Apple $100. Upping the storage just makes a good excuse to go up in price because that's already the price for that amount of storage. So instead of some people paying $100 more, now everyone pays $100 more (at least). So if Apple pays $50 for that storage upgrade, they just make a free $50 on every iPhone 14 sold.If the storage is going to increase along with the price, it might make more sense from a marketing perspective to keep the storage the same and the price the same. That way it doesn't look like a price increase.
I don't get it? A welcome price increase? Is that what you are saying? Or is there something I'm missing, like larger storage option?

What makes you think the 13 will get a discount past 14 launch ?I didn't say its for someone who has the 13. What I said was there is absolutely no reason for someone to buy the 14 at an inflated price when they can buy a 13, which is the same exact phone, at a discount when the 14 launches.
NevahMake that a 35% price increase for Euro € due to Putin’s war and a 45% price increase for Pound £ thanks to Boris’ Brexit, alongside an overall reduced PPP due to high inflation.
At what price point will Apple 🍎 or their customers surrender or still give in?
Honestly, iPhone has always been expensive. It’s an exclusive and premium product.I’m just an average user, not pro, but I must say the iPhone is getting somewhat expensive! Wonder what the deal-breaking price point for average users will be?
Used to be $99 on a contract at one time. Same as consoles. Were $99 at one time. Now it's half a grand to a grand, and today's games are getting close to the price of the initial consolesHonestly, iPhone has always been expensive. It’s an exclusive and premium product.
Not a price hike for me since I buy the 256GB phone. That's exactly what Apple wants you to think. But since you don't have the option to go back down to the original base tier at the original price... it's a price hike.
