Funny how everyone says, "Oh NOW it's OK". LMAO.

No one considers that they could have made 256 GB the $999 base model, considering how ridiculously cheap 256 GB of storage is today.

Member back when Apple would keep the price of the iPhone the same year after year while still increasing its value? I member.

Nowadays Apple acts like they're doing the world a favor by improving their devices, where every improvement needs to be given a new name and a new price.

Given how they increased the price of the new MacBook Air for the same storage, this will never happen although I’d be happy to be wrong though.

The Air has a lot of costs to amortize - the new chassis, new keyboard, etc. Much like before, I expect succeeding generations to drop in price - they won't want to sell the M1 Air forever, so they'll need a $999-$1099 product soon.

Lol, I have iPhone 13 PM with 128gb of storage, and I have 100gb free. I will never find a way to fill all that space.
Wow. How do you manage that? My phone takes up all of my 64GB even though I’m using iCloud for everything.

I don't get it so is it a price increase for all sizes or just the base model? People cheering 256 I'll pay more but if you are on the 512 model is it going up as well for the same size?

They just switched to 128 GB as the minimum, while moving to 256 would be great, I doubt they'll force this change.

If the storage is going to increase along with the price, it might make more sense from a marketing perspective to keep the storage the same and the price the same. That way it doesn't look like a price increase.
That $100 upgrade doesn't cost Apple $100. Upping the storage just makes a good excuse to go up in price because that's already the price for that amount of storage. So instead of some people paying $100 more, now everyone pays $100 more (at least). So if Apple pays $50 for that storage upgrade, they just make a free $50 on every iPhone 14 sold.

It gets even funnier because I have used 655kb of my 5gb iCloud space. 🤣

I only download apps that I need, I dont take pictures nor videos at all. I use incognito mode in Safari when I browse the internet etc.

Well, finally Apple is "giving something for free" with their products constant price increases, inflation and chip shortages or not.
Now lets hope nets refresh of their Macs, iPads get double the storage, because 256GB is sad on M2 devices.
The same goes to M1 iPad pro's.

I didn't say its for someone who has the 13. What I said was there is absolutely no reason for someone to buy the 14 at an inflated price when they can buy a 13, which is the same exact phone, at a discount when the 14 launches.
What makes you think the 13 will get a discount past 14 launch ?

Recovering from surgery to repair two torn off tendons on my right shoulder. My iPhone 13 Max Pro 1TB qualifies as my initial bar bell!

Several floaters are still in the air for iPhone 14:

1. USB-C charger port?
2. Two TB storage?
3. Cases on release day?
4. Comes with iOS 13 or iOS 14?
5. Still an eSim and a card sim for the two phone lines?
a. A mechanical sim is an advantage when traveling outside of the USA.
b. Verizon still has and needs a glass navel to be used to observe their esim installations

Still botheres me that the base price has now over doubled from the original...but hey ho, I'm a mug, I'll still buy it.

These things better bloody well have USB-C.

…and no one will care about it. It’ll all be an extra $2.77 a month for 36 month carrier financing.

The mass public don’t care what things actually cost.

And what’s the alternative? NOT an iPhone? A REGULAR 14? Bwahaha. I laugh.

And no you can’t buy last year’s pro for a discount, sorry: you must buy NEW pro and like it.

All hail Apple.
