iPhone 14 Pro Predicted to Start With Increased 256GB Storage Alongside Rumored Price Increase

…and no one will care about it. It’ll all be an extra $2.77 a month for 36 month carrier financing.

The mass public don’t care what things actually cost.

And what’s the alternative? NOT an iPhone? A REGULAR 14? Bwahaha. I laugh.

And no you can’t buy last year’s pro for a discount, sorry: you must buy NEW pro and like it.

All hail Apple.
And if you want to keep your Minis....no battery percentage for you!!! muhahahah

But it could be cool to have a largest screen out of Pros. Just need to research what is lost by going 14M regular

I would be interested in any thoughts photography folks have as to why they would go with the 48MP sensor on the ultra-wide lens as opposed to the telephoto? It would seem to be the lens with the most distortion. Any thoughts appreciated.

The primary camera will get 48MP and the large sensor, I think that will be the regular wide camera, not the ultra wide.

Apple may change $100 to go from 128gb to 256gb but it probably only costs them $5-6 more. If they want to raise the price, just eliminating the base storage tier is a good way to do that.

This is the answer right here.

In addition to Steve’s attributes in your signature, I would add “and he had Tim Cook there to help him monetize the hell out of it.”

Remember, way back in the 2000s, before the US became completely controlled by oligopoly, when computers were faster, cheaper and better with each passing year? 😂

The bad thing here is the steel. I thought they would switch to something equally strong but lighter. The pro models are way to heavy. I don't get why they don't understand that this is a reason to buy the non pro models. As there will be a non pro max model this year, it'll be a hard time for the pro models.

Yeah, I doubt it. The iPhone 14 Pro will start with 128 GB and cost 1099...I don't think Apple will be generous enough to give us that extra storage for that increased price...

I think people don't really care how much they pay for an iPhone. Many people around the world buy their phones via +20 months provider installments.

Today you pay 50$ per month for your phone hardware, tomorrow you pay 55$.
That’s very true. The smartphone business is one of the best businesses to be in because the hardware is subsidized by the carriers for a lot of people and it’s an indispensable tool. If people had to pay full price for their iPhones, they’d be holding onto them a LOT longer, and Apple’s stock price would be in the gutter right now.

Big parts of the world is heading into recession and I think many will be skeptical to paying more even if the memory is bigger as a sales point. Unless you have money to burn that is…

So with the rumored price increases and "changes" to the iPhone 14, there really is absolutely no reason for anyone to buy the 14. It will be the exact same in term of specs, other than MAYBE a slightly bigger battery.

I would buy the 13 at a discount since it will be pretty much exactly the 14.
The trick will be the amount of RAM. Since Apple has differentiated the 13 and 13 Pro (more RAM on the Pro), I can see models with 6GB of RAM gets longer iOS updates than the ones with less.

But you're right, the differentiation is very minimal from consumer perspective. Thus I believe Apple will discontinue the regular 13, leaving the 13 mini, 14, 14 Max as the non Pro lineup.

This wouldn't technically be an increase then, but a discontinuation of the 128GB models. It would make some sense since 4K ProRes was unavailable on those phones.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. I thought there was something about if you shoot in raw or pro you have to have 256.

Lol, I have iPhone 13 PM with 128gb of storage, and I have 100gb free. I will never find a way to fill all that space.
For a streaming only life sure. It is hard to fill that space since streaming don’t waste much if any storage.
Pro users who have unlimited high-speed 5g data plans have less need for a ton of on-device storage
Coverage is not unlimited, so local storage is still needed.

Make that a 35% price increase for Euro € due to Putin’s war and a 45% price increase for Pound £ thanks to Boris’ Brexit, alongside an overall reduced PPP due to high inflation.

At what price point will Apple 🍎 or their customers surrender or still give in?
Remember when iphones were priced from 400-700? They like to push their boundaries and people will pay.
