I want more reports of a titanium chassis iPhone 14, because that’s something I’d love to have - assuming they’ll continue on with titanium Watch models. I’m ready to replace my 12 Pro Max and keep the 14 Pro or Pro Max (haven’t decided yet), for the next 3+ years. And I really want an updated form with the Watch, as my series 5 has had significant degradation in battery life over the past few months. Depending on what Apple does with the Watch, I may jump over to a Garmin Fenix 7 Titanium / Sapphire. Although I’d be giving up many of the services the Watch provides when I don’t want to bring my iPhone with me while out and about, the Fenix 7 sounds like it gets crazy good battery life and does most of the health tracking I’ve relied on with the Watch. I also really dig the classic round watch form factor.

Wow! Love the renders. Gorgeous, such an amazing work.

Hopefully, Apple will be adding Titanium Chassis instead of the Stainless Steel. The new 48MP camera will be a game changer. I'm already convinced to be purchasing two iPhones for myself, LOL.
These renders do look good. The camera bump is going to look huge on the 14 Pro, so I’m probably going to get the 14 Pro Max whenever I get around to getting one, presumably next spring.

I have a 13 Pro now. It was not bad to carry, but if the camera bump and the lenses are going to become more prominent, I will want a more substantial chassis to grip.

In other thoughts, I’m going to start thinking of Jon Prosser as “Ostensibly Accurate Jon Prosser” from now on. 🤣

Everyone will get used to it. Come September, I wouldn't be shocked if people are saying they miss the notch.

Come November or so (assuming rumor becomes reality), "pill & hole are iconic", "I love the pill & hole", "so much more screen RE NO longer wasted" and "how did we ever put up with that huge, ugly notch?" A few might write something like, "I thought it would really bug me but now I no longer even notice."

Right now, the prime issue is the plausibility that this rumor won't play out. As soon as it becomes real- as soon as "we" KNOW Apple is going this way- pill & hole will gain much acceptance momentum... probably transitioning through a lot of "it's kind of growing on me" and "I'll have to see it in person" ahead of the "big reveal"... before immediately flipping to "shut up and take my money" and "best iPhone ever" as soon as Apple rolls it out.

Over the years, I feel like I've seen the same movie about 50 times.

No way around it, those cut outs are hideous. If this was an Android phone, consumers would have no problem calling it ugly. Apple knows a majority of their customer base are blind loyalist, and will buy whatever they put out. It is what it is.

If I had to guess, there are a lot of people, me included, that don’t think twice about the current notch on the iPhone and won’t really think about a pill-and-hole version should that come to fruition. There are so few times that the notch gets in the way of using the iPhone, it’s effectively a non-issue, and the hole punches will play out exactly the same way. Like so many “issues and problems” that tech savvy people have with any device, it’s almost always things that the general population of users wouldn’t even notice.

I still wished that Apple hid all the Face ID sensors in a small black bezel area on top of the screen (when you look at the phone in Portrait orientation). That way, you still get the full screen experience without looking at a notch or screen cutouts.

A solid and notable advance compared to the previous model, despite what the nay sayers think!.
Oh, sorry, I meant the now Sony phone. ;)

Yep, this definitely looks like something Apple would do. The updated camera and removable of the notch are nice upgrades.

Too many years without any really big changes have gone by. This year seems to be headed in the same direction. Maybe COVID and shutdowns have stalled Apple in its tracks for now

The top bezel would need to be much bigger to house the Face ID sensors ?
