I get around to getting one, presumably next spring.
 No, please get yourself ready to order a new iPhone 14 Pro Max this September when pre-order goes live. Why wait till Spring? Also, I wouldn't risk waiting that long due to shipment delays and stuff. Look what's happening with the MacBook Pro's. It's all delayed. You might as well order it right after pre-order goes live :).

I just love the size of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. You get used to it. Jon has come a really long way, LOL.

Yea I don't think the titanium sides will be polished/glossy this time around, it'll most likely be brushed titanium considering what they've done with titanium Apple Watch chassis over the past 3 years
That's much better due to the durability. We may not be able to see micro-scratches anymore. I love my Titanium Apple Watch 7.

So...it's basically the same as 12 and 13. What is the point of breaking up the notch? One notch looks cleaner than two.
And who needs the 8K video? AAPL does, the iCloud storage isn't going to grow by itself.

Too many years without any really big changes have gone by. This year seems to be headed in the same direction.

What direction do you think the iPhone should take that would make ‘Big’ changes?

Smart phones are so technologically advanced and mature, they still sell well regardless of not having massive changes year after year. And I don’t think that smart phones in general need to have significant changes every year, being that consumers aren’t upgrading on an annual basis anyways, and the main focus seems to be the camera for upgrade, which Apple has been emphasizing fairly well over the last three years, now with macro mode, and the periscope lens likely in 2023.

What "advanced" feature would you like to see that is not on smartphones? Current line-up of smartphones pretty have loads of things short of a portable kitchen.

I really don't get the hatred of the lightning port. You'll be hating USB-C a whole lot more when that connector breaks internally after 6-8 month.
Speed limitations aside, I'm with you on this. I'm lucky as the retainer clips on my 6 yr SE still have a positive locking port (like new), quite different to the three USB-C ports in my car in halve that period.

Transfer speed is entirely chipset dependant, though fully expected with a new port. This extra cost in turn is likely to cut into the profit margin and/ or raise the price again. In the EU there's a huge push to standardize USB-C.

OMG I’ve agreed completely with you twice today. 😆 Good bright purple Pro iPhones, yes, Apple make it so.

I’d like to see them make a good solid black Pro iPhone again, too. They’ve had too many different shades of space grey and many of those looked brown under indoor lighting.
Those matte black iPhones were fire.

I don't think we'll see anything brighter than the baby blue we got for iPhones 13.

This will be the same brightness as the blue one, just a more purple hue. Or it will be a darker purple.
Unfortunate but I guarantee they never release anything exciting, as far as colors, for the Pro models.

Just like all manufacturers at this point...
I have to give Samsung credit for trying something new with the Z fold. My coworker has been using one at work and even though it’s bulky when closed, it’s impressive when he unfolds it and easily multitask between Teams and other apps. We had patch a network closet and configure some phones, needed guidance while updating the ticket and it was just so smooth doing that on it. I can do it on the iPhone but it’s cumbersome. I hope Apple enters the category but don’t cripple it like iPad OS.

Apple has always been known to take failed concepts into great products. So while you might not see it now doesn't mean or imply they aren't researching it.

Several articles here on MR have yielded interesting patent applications regarding foldable screens. However, people often want these devices "now", when in reality it often takes years to materialize if they ever do.

Can we get them a little thicker so the camera lenses are flush with the rest of the phone. That way they could make the battery a bit thicker as well and give us longer use time.

People are gonna start abandoning Apple due to boredom. We have been getting more or less the same phone since iPhone X.
I used to get so amped up about the latest iPhones. That hasn't happened since the iPhone X. It was truly a groundbreaking departure from the classic iPhones and the last time the iPhone wowed me in design. With that said, the iPhone 13 Pro, while not exciting design wise, feels like a really mature, well thought out device. I love the look, love the display, love the cameras, and love the battery life. I'll keep the 13 Pro until next year's iPhone 15 Pro or whatever it is called.
