Apple cheapening out on RAM thus limiting OS features and future proofing. Galaxy S21 Ultra released in January 2021 had 12GB LPDDR5 base with option for up to 16GB.

Couldn't care less about RAM upgrades, the phones work perfectly as is.

Honestly, the top item on my wishlist is just for Apple to tone down the overprocessing in their photos. Picture profiles help, but it's not enough.

They've recently been making the same mistake Google made this year with the Pixels. Updating the hardware without reducing the software processing that was more tuned to support older, smaller lenses and sensors.
I know its not always the best solution, but its an easy fix with several camera apps allowing heavy user control. Personally, I find the stock camera app processing to look pretty good with the exception of there is no way to manual focus when necessary.

It must be frustrating though as the standard models aren’t exactly cheap. The standard models do serve most of Apples iPhone market too so it’s not unreasonable for users to be frustrated when features get left off.
More cost, more features. That's how everything works. Cars, phones, etc.

Well without USB-C, it's a long, painful process to offload all that ProRes and ProRAW data!
Note that USB-C != faster transfer speed. USB-C is only the physical connector. Majority of Androids out there have USB-C but still at USB2.0 speed. Only few flagships like Galaxy S and Pixel phones have USB3 speed. Considering Apple has had high transfer speed possible on lightning, it made me think it’s a controller chip issue. Or Apple just being Apple.

Sorry but most top tier modern androids operate at usb 3.0 speeds. Lightning is a joke. Apple should have moved to usb c 3.0 YEARS ago. Glad the EU is forcing them.

Name those top tier Android phones. Basically just flagship Samsung and Pixel phones. Even the Xiaomi 12s ultra is usb2. Vivo iQOO 10 pro that runs the latest Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 is usb2. All Samsung lineup lower than the galaxy S are usb2 as well. And they're all usb-c.

Of course, for the money Apple is charging, we should expect more. But people need to understand that usb-c itself is just the physical connector.

Galaxy s and Pixel is like 80% of the us market. Sorry, apple is WAY behind the competition.

Incorrect. If you google "us cell phone market share", you will quickly discover that actual statistics seem to dramatically disagree with your assessment. Apple is half of the US market by itself. Of the remaining manufacturers, Samsung falls into a distant second place with 24% of the market, and Google doesn't even make a perceivable showing, being buried somewhere within the "Other" category. None of those figures can be interpreted to mean that Galaxy and Pixel are 80% of... well, anything.

The worldwide figures are of course a bit different, with Samsung taking first place by a very slim margin against Apple... but once again, Google is nowhere to be found in the top ten. And even though those statistics do not appear to be quite as favorable towards Apple overall, (thanks in large part to the international success of various inexpensive Chinese phones) they still don't equate to your statement in any way at all.

Yes at least there are choices with Android Phones. Apple could at least put it on the Pros, and that might entice more to move up

Doesn’t seem like it.

Pixel is on others.

For the price Apple is charging, sure, we should expect more. But at the same time, simply claiming USB-C as “faster speed” is a misnomer.
