Say hello to the notch pill, if Young’s rumours hold up I will be hanging onto to my iPhone 12 Pro Max until the release of the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
So every single pixel on the screen of the iPhone has to be taken up by something?So... What will happen when you see bunch of pixels lighting up for no reason whatsoever?
If Apple cared about one-handed use, they wouldn’t have ditched the iPhone mini.I'm not sure I agree with putting so many of the controls up there because won't that impact one handed ease of use?
I think when the indicators are not being used the pill+hole will turn into a long pill for a symmetrical look.You guys realize it's still pill + hole right, not a long pill? In the camera mode, the space inbetween is utilized by the display itself to show those indicators.
I don't think it will be blacked out when you are watching video for exampleI think when the indicators are not being used the pill+hole will turn into a long pill for a symmetrical look.
Thanks !Another MacRumors used called it on one of the previous pill threads. Makes a lot of sense. Now we just have to see how the pill will shape shift for additional information.
@ahmedreda spot on!
I would like to have some kind of „new notifications“ indicator like that red dot on the Apple Watch. Especially when you use a focus mode, it would be nice to see if there are new notifications. Will be interesting to see how notifications work with the always-on display.I wish they'd bring back notification LEDs![]()
It is a sideways “i”, for “i”-Phone.The single pill makes more sense than the sideways exclamation point. Easier for our brains to fill in.
How often are you taking pictures in portrait orientation? I take nearly %100 in landscape, especially video, so having things at the top/left shouldn’t be an issueThe picture also shows how the camera app will be redesigned (according to the article). I'm not sure I agree with putting so many of the controls up there because won't that impact one handed ease of use? Unless those controls are moving to make way for new camera software features at the bottom 🤔 Maybe they need more viewfinder space for the rumored 3:2 aspect ratio (I still believe native film emulation is coming at some point)
That's what I love about the iPhone events, even if we know what the device will look like and rough camera specs we never truly know what kind of camera *software* tricks are coming.
