sooo... the 15 pro will still be heavier than my 12 pro? (by 1 gram, but still)

So the PM is 19 grams lighter… likely not noticeable for me…
I empathize, I feel a little jealous too lol.

All kidding aside, the iPhone 12 Pro weight was the most tolerable to me (of course lighter is better) and the 15 Pro weighs the same. I was a little jelly at the thinner bezels but the weight is actually a big factor if you've ever owned a 12 Pro and made the jump to 14 Pro.

For a company that claims to care so much about the environment, it makes no sense the way Apple tweaks the size of every new model so that all previous cases and many accessories get dumped in the trash when the user upgrades.
it makes perfect sense. they dont care in the slightest about the environment and only care about money.

I was going to not consider upgrading my iPhone 12 Pro Max to the heavier iPhone 14 Pro Max, but if this information is correct, the 15 Pro Max will in fact by 7 grams lighter than my 12 Pro Max, restoring it to a contender for me.
Just as you 'BradMacPro' I also have an iPhone 12 and would like to upgrade to 15 pro (???) up until now I've been able to utilise previous iPhone charging power adapters but now I/we will have to purchase a £19/$19 charging adapter, this to me is utterly wrong. Where will it end, say we need a new shaver, electric tooth brush ECT, ECT we can't do what Apple says we can do, because the iPhone 15 only has a USBC cable in the box with the iPhone.🥴🥴

As part of our efforts to reach our environmental goals, iPhone 11 does not include a power adapter or EarPods. Included in the box is a USB‑C to Lightning cable that supports fast charging and is compatible with USB‑C power adapters and computer ports.

We encourage you to re‑use your current USB‑A to Lightning cables, power adapters, and headphones which are compatible with this iPhone. But if you need any new Apple power adapters or headphones, they are available for purchase.

Apple

I think they care about the environment only when it intersects with their financial interests, so yes, ultimately it is about the money. Using renewable energy to power their server farms, etc. makes good business sense given that energy costs are only headed in one direction. I applaud their use of renewables, but I don't for a minute believe it's about the environment.

Unfortunately there's no financial benefit in doing the green thing and sticking with the same size/shape for multiple iPhone models. Better to make each new version a millimeter shorter or wider or thicker or thinner...so the accessory consumption cycle can begin anew.

This is great news. I hated the weight of the 14 Pro Max and it is one of the reasons I went for the 14 Pro later on. I would consider the 15 Pro Max if it is that light.

There is a video I have watched that discusses something about weight... I can't remember who it was but...

The weight of the iPhone is constant, however, we get tired the longer we hold it in our hands...

I just wish they keep the flat sides for smaller phones and use the rounded edges for bigger ones... They may introduce a mini iPhone sometime in the future...
what? the iphone doesn't change its weight while holding, no kidding?

the thickness is a huge disappointment.
I suspect it’s to compensate for the slightly smaller outer dimensions (due to the thinner bezels), and also for the camera bumps to appear slightly less ridiculous.

People shouldn't be upgrading every year anyway and if they do they can easily afford a new case.
