And it will be 10 percent lower as you make the payments on a 15 Pro Max! 😉
10% of a dollar, negligible though. 10% of 100,000 dollars - now we’re talking. This falls under 10% of a dollar for me. Would notice probably the first time I hold it, then it becomes exactly the same.

For a company that claims to care so much about the environment, it makes no sense the way Apple tweaks the size of every new model so that all previous cases and many accessories get dumped in the trash when the user upgrades.
Their reasoning probably is that most people only upgrade every three or four years, when the form factor will have changed anyway.

the thickness is a huge disappointment.
Theoretically, I agree. But I'm guessing it's because of the stacked battery. If battery life increases by more than 50 percent, would we consider it an acceptable compromise?

In the end, I have to actually hold these phones in my hand. Balance has a lot to do with what's acceptable - at least to me. I have a 13 Pro but a colleague's 14 Plus feels better in my hand despite the size. I suspect the weight and positioning of the camera and extra lens on my phone have a lot to do with it.

reluctant to give up my 6s, but need something more current, even if I go the standard pro it feels like I'm swapping something light and thin for the latest apple brick, may be 10% lighter than last year but its way more than 10% heavier than 6s and with no fingerprint sensor to boot

Does that mean the screen will be slightly smaller in width for screen real esate or the smaller bezels mean smaller frame I thought rounded would be wider than flat

I was hoping for more weight reduction. However if the battery capacity is increased, and we get a 15P with battery life of 13PM, I’m in.

Ultimately, no chance I’ll be ordering before I can see one for myself and the reviews are out.

Why would it need a fingerprint sensor when it has the best facial recognition in the industry? If you haven’t used Face ID yet you would soon see the difference.

Seriously, this build up to the 15 is pretty lame. Normally images would be amazing to see, but in the case of the 15, they all just look the same as previous iPhones. The weight different is negliable. We also already know how the operating system us going to work and it will work the same on all other iPhones basically. The only thing that’s going to really differentiate the 15 will be the telescopic camera. I took an iPhone 14 Pro to Hawaii and all of the zoomed pictures look awful. Samsung s23 Ultra does take better zoomed pictures, but it’s so slow that you need a tripod to get a good picture.

That’s approximately half a house mouse of average weight.

Or a very small Roborovski hamster. Whatever the hell that is.

Edit: oh I actually have owned a Roborovski hamster! Cool. I didn’t know that was the kind of hamster he was. I will notice one Roborovski hamster less of weight on the phone. I’m that delicate and ladylike! 😆
Now we need pics of your Mr. Roborovsky

I REALLY like the weight difference, and the USBc, but thicker I'm not wild about. Bezel size being smaller is a negative for me too. But I really am tempted by the weight difference. (15Pro)
Is 0.4mm thicker on the Pro really a deal breaker? Seems like something you’ll forget about the second day of using it. We do sometimes get caught up in the numbers, here. 🤔

They are not rounded like the iPhone 6 or X. The sides are still flat. It’s just the edges that are a bit less sharp and a bit more rounded.

14 on the left, 15 on the right (leaked dummy):

personally I look to strengthen my arms in the gym so that I can hold my phone with more ease 🤷‍♂️
Yea I find bicep curling my phone really easy now since I've been weight lifting for the past 20 years. Oddly my pinky phone shelf hasn't improved in strength.

I think they care about the environment only when it intersects with their financial interests, so yes, ultimately it is about the money. Using renewable energy to power their server farms, etc. makes good business sense given that energy costs are only headed in one direction. I applaud their use of renewables, but I don't for a minute believe it's about the environment.

Unfortunately there's no financial benefit in doing the green thing and sticking with the same size/shape for multiple iPhone models. Better to make each new version a millimeter shorter or wider or thicker or thinner...so the accessory consumption cycle can begin anew.
How much impact is it really relative to other sources of waste? Yes, there are a lot of phones, but there are a lot of other things out there, too. Look at the material in your trash can. I certainly send more mass to the trash or “recycler” every day than the mass of one case. Why does that food need to come in a plastic tray? Why did you switch from a carton to a plastic jug? Why does that item need so much packaging? Why am I getting so much junk mail each day?

There are always trade offs and you can care about the environment but some decisions take other factors in account. It helps to look at decisions with greater impact.

It’s funny for years people have been complaining about Apple making their devices too thin and asking for more thickness and battery. The 6/6s actually was the thinnest iPhone so any newer one will feel thick for a while but the battery life has improved significantly since then.

One of the things I really appreciate of the Plus/Max iPhones over the years has always been their width.

I noticed that it’s becoming ever so slightly narrower. My 12 PM is 78.1 mm wide vs this 15 PM rumored 76.7 mm.

I hope it’s just the same screen size width with 1.4 mm narrower bezels.

Always hated those narrow and super tall phones, specially when using the keyboard.
