store came up on app for me finally at 7:15am CT but kept erroring when it tried to process my pre-arranged pre-order details. finally got website up at 7:21am CT and was able to place my order (15 Pro Max 1T Black Titanium). set for delivery next Friday. Strange though because App Store usually comes up and works better for me every year vs. website but glad I always try both in parallel.
sadly by time my order placed, delivery is now Oct 4 - 9th.

Apple is now accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max through its online storefront and the Apple Store app. The Apple Store app is typically the quickest way to get a pre-order in as it is often accessible before the website comes up.

Pre-orders are being accepted in more than 40 countries and regions around the world, and those who used Apple's "Get Ready" feature should be able to hit a button to get their orders in without hassle.

Pricing on the iPhone 15 starts at $799 or $33.29 per month in the United States, while pricing on the iPhone 15 Plus starts at $899 or $37.45 per month. The iPhone 15 Pro is available starting at $999 or $41.62 per month, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max is available starting at $1,199 or $49.95 per month. Pricing will vary depending on country.

The lowest-priced iPhone 15, 15 Plus, and 15 Pro Max models have 128GB of storage, but the iPhone 15 Pro Max starts with 256GB of storage. Storage upgrades are available for an increased price, with up to 1TB of storage available. Apple is encouraging customers to use trade-in credits to lower the price of the new iPhone models, and it is also promoting carrier deals from AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile in the U.S.

All of the iPhone 15 models are equipped with USB-C ports, the Dynamic Island, a new Ultra Wideband chip, Qualcomm 5G modems, and a range of camera updates. The more affordable iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have an A16 chip, an aluminum frame, and a frosted glass back, as well as a new 48-megapixel Main camera. There have been updates to Portrait mode, Night mode, and general improvements to image quality thanks to Smart HDR updates.

The iPhone 15 Pro models feature a new titanium frame that makes them much lighter than prior-generation models, with titanium also offering increased strength and durability. Apple replaced the mute switch with an Action button that can be customized with a number of functions, and display bezels have been slimmed down.

Pro models are also equipped with a faster A17 Pro chip with major GPU improvements that enable them to play console-level games, and they feature all of the camera improvements from the iPhone 15 models, plus more.

Both models have improved Ultra Wide cameras, and while the iPhone 15 Pro still has a 3x Telephoto lens, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a new tetraprism mechanism for its Telephoto lens, enabling 5x optical zoom.

It's not yet clear on whether there will be shortages of the new iPhone models, but it is a good idea to pre-order right away just in case. There were rumors of production difficulties with the iPhone 15 Pro Max, so it is possible it will sell out. The 5x zoom lens, the new titanium material, and the A17 Pro chip make it especially enticing.

U.S. carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile are accepting preorders for the new devices, as are other carriers worldwide. Big box retailers like Best Buy, Target, and Walmart have pre-orders available too.

Customers who pre-order one of the iPhone 15 models can expect to begin receiving their deliveries on Friday, September 22, the official launch date for the new devices.

That was certainly the worst preorder experience I’ve had, and like many of you, I preorder every year. Also, I’m using Apple’s own upgrade program for which I “Got Ready” for the preorder.

Didn’t actually get in without errors until 20 minutes after and had to change my iPhone configuration to get launch day delivery. Ugh. Grateful I still got it. First-world problems, but still, could certainly be a better experience.

The store is still down for me. 🙄 Just like last year.

Edit: This is absolutely ridiculous, I woke up early for nothing... trying to preorder from the iOS app, my iPad or my Mac didn't work, the store was down for me until 7:26 a.m. and the best I got was a delivery date of Oct. 4 to Oct. 9. It is now 7:31 a.m. and the store is still not live on my iPhone.

PSA: Also, be aware that if you want your iPhone to come pre-activated (at least on Verizon) there is an extra $35 fee. I noticed was able to remove it.

–End of rant–.
How did you remove the $35 Verizon fee?

While waiting for the store to open, I decided against black, which I preordered, and went with natural Ti. After so many years with a black I plus I think I need a change of hue.

Couldn’t talk myself into it. Just didn’t care enough. Too much hassle for basically very little benefit.

How did people set up pre-orders ahead of time? I did that last year but the Store app never gave me the opportunity. All it ever showed me was price information. Fortunately I got my two orders in quickly before the store went down again, but I am curious how people managed to setup up pre-orders ahead of time.
It let me set mine up last night. Didn’t help because this morning there wasn’t any saved.

Skipping this for a while. kicked out multiple times during order window waiting for payment to go through then no longer available to pick up ;/

Never got in via the app. Using the website via safari was frustrating since almost every time I went to a new page it requiered me to login again. Finally after successfully navigating, the first attempt to pay via Applepay failed. Trying it again, I found the page cleared the pickup time at my local store. Could not get my original pickup time so finally a success with a later time. Too bad, Apple can’t just copy Amazon’s checkout ease of use.

What a terrible preorder experience for me, would not let me in for 20 minutes and when I did I kept getting errors so just gave up. I’ll try again next year with the 16PM.

Same order, but placed mine on my Mac. It wasn't immediately obvious where to click to complete the order until I scrolled to the bottom of the page. Decided at the last minute to pick up at an Apple Store nearby to avoid problems with home delivery.
Happy to hear that! Also, nice choice haha.

I had the same thought actually opting for pickup as there was a delay last year with my phone. UPS made good progress, then lost track of the package for a day or two and delivered coincidentally on the same day as my watch.

Good times 😂

I didn’t order one for myself this year, but I was helping someone else with their AUP preorder. Apparently all that we went through in the app 3 days ago in preparation for this morning never saved, and this is on top of the app already taking 15+ minutes just to open and let us in. Numerous errors and hiccups throughout the process from that point onwards. We appear to have secured a 22nd delivery but this was very far from the smoothest iPhone preorder I’ve ever participated in.

Website on my Mac: down
App on my phone: down
Website on my phone: up

Ordered through the website on my phone. Posting from Hawaii.
"Aloha" UltimateSyn - also posting from Hawaii (Hilo). The Apple Store finally let me in on my Mac at 02:15, and even after I had completed my order, the iOS Apple Store app was still showing "almost there". Funny. Now happily waiting for an iPhone 15 Pro Max Blue 512 GB to replace my iPhone 13 Pro Max Sierra Blue 1 TB which will be going to Gazelle.

The app crashed on me several times! This was the worst pre order experience ever! I almost woke up early for nothing! But I persisted and was able to get an in person pick up on sep 22. But late in the afternoon as the morning slots were already sold out !!

I was able to do it a couple days ago. This time I had to provide a monthly rent/mortgage payment along with annual income. All of that went through fine but this morning when I went to the app I said I timed out and didn’t appear to have any of that info saved. A half hour later it finally worked. Just a cluster%^*& this morning.

I managed to place my order with a trade in from a prepqred pre order at like 5:05am PDT no problem, through the app. Then I couldn’t bring up my wife‘s Pre-order, had all the same issues as everyone else and then even when the app was working it would either not pull up her prepped Pre-order and when I tried to set up a new one it would tell me the trade in service was down.

Finally placed the order at 5:30 on my iPad through the website because the app never worked on iPad or iPhone. White 15PM 256gb was unavailable at the store I got mine for pickup at so switched to blue and managed to still get 9/22 pickup.

$3 trillion company. Maybe Tim is right that their software engineers need to get into the office and get their heads in the game. What a rediculous showing, making the launch time so most of the country has to wake up for it and then making sure they aren’t getting back to sleep.

Did the get ready so all I had to do was open the Apple Store app and for around 20 minutes get Error accessing your order information. Then get the Almost There around 8:25, then finally in to order a Pro Max Natural Titanium 512GB and expected delivery is Oct 4 - 9. What a clusterfug. Honestly getting it then isn’t a big deal, but ffs don’t offer the get ready then. It’s every year there is some issue and this year it’s the worst. Last year did the get ready, opened the app around 8:05 (since it’s never on time anyways) and hit checkout and was done.

Very frustrating experience … several error messages, could not connects …. finally got thru by re-starting our iPhones, then they both connected and finished the purchase. One 9/22 delivery (Ti 512 PM) and one 10/4-ish delivery (White 256 PM).
