iPhone 5C colors were too soft and girly, which is why that phone didn't sell well, IMO.

Everyone picked the 5S to avoid having to be seen with those color selections. They also didn't offer black.

They didn't sell well because they were a year-behind, didn't have touch-ID, and carriers didn't push them. Just like the 5s and 5, and the 4, and the 3gs, and 3, everyone put their phones in cases. They still do, but they did then as well.

I'm a mid 40s dude and I like bright vibrant colors. Black and grays are boring as hell..

Wasn’t there a rumor for a black matte or bronze type color for the last two iterations? Those never came to fruition. However, since the iPhone is rumored to switch to new material, I wouldn’t be surprised if they went to conservative colors like this.

You noticed these are the cheap models? These colors were never on the iPod Classic or the iPod Touch. Apple has always relegated colors to the cheap models.

Why the F do people always equate colors with being "girly" and WTF is wrong with being girly?

You say iPod Touch and yet plenty of colors throughout that device's life... 🤷‍♂️

boring.

can they at least retain the classic colors of a proper White/Silver and a Black/Silver?

then do whatever you want with the rest?

take a hint from the early days iPod Nanos that came in vibrant and brilliant colors. these already look dated

That is not true. The iPod touch had colors in later generations and the iPod Classic also had the Black and Red U2 edition.

Apple chose to add color to their most popular selling products.

I think all of these colors look pretty when spread out together to form a palette of colors. But the problem for me is, if I were to pick one, almost any one of them besides the black ones, when I step away I'm barely going to know what color I've got. It's just going to look off-white with a hint of something else.

Still, I know I'm gonna get my self up bright and early and mash those Apple Store buttons like a frantic squirrel to get one. I always do, even when 6 months prior I feel absolutely certain I won't.

Then it's going to give me a headache and I'll have to go back to an older model and make 127 posts about pwm sensitivity and hope for better luck next year.

I wish apple released iphones every other year like they used to.. Zero improvement, depressive colors..

🤢🤮 Bad photo maybe… The mock ups we’ve been seeing prior weeks are way better. These colors are extremely feminine. At least the non pro phones aren’t so 5c like a Clown farted bright colors. So out of touch.
