from where?
I haven't seen any official channels with reduced prices, but I ordered one from AliExpress for $12. It says it's official apple...we'll see. I've ordered Apple Official leather cases through similar channels and received genuine Apple official cases. But I also know there's a 50/50 chance it's a knockoff. For $12, I'm fine with that risk.

Lol, nothing from AliExpress is official anything. There is zero possibility it’s not a knockoff.

I was nervous. As I carefully opened the box I half expected it to vaporise in my hands when it came into contact with the air, based off the forum reactions. Thankfully it didnt.
That's where I was coming from with my post, but you've articulated it much better than I could have!

Phone has arrive and the case feels fine on the phone. It just feels very different to the leather one. I suspect I'll get used to it and forget about it in a few weeks time.

Had a look at these in the store today and they are embarrassingly awful. Most of them were scratched up already, you run the scratches with your finger and they don’t come off.

Given these are essentially cloth I also wonder how they will fare when they come into contact with liquid.

I saw them in store today and picked up the FW wallet. At first pick up they're fine and feel really great - premium actually - well the wallet anyway. I would have picked up the case but they're much darker than the marketing materials.

But yea, they scratch up really easily and will probably look just as beat up as leather over time, will probably look better the more it gets used because right now, the scratches stand out. Overpriced? Yes but all their accessories are absurdly over priced just like the $100 alpine loop I picked up.

Do any of you who are using the FW with your phone find the bottom cut out extremely sharp? It makes holding the phone uncomfortable and digs into my pinky.

YES, YES and YES! I thought it was just me. Years ago, Apple made one of the leather cases like that, too. It took quite a while to smooth out. My pinky feels a little 'sore' at the moment, wait, maybe more tender...

Update:
I hold my device with both hands, and my right pinky falls right where the USB port is. Additionally, the device is resting on the sort of first joint of my pinky, on the side, the soft area of my pinky.

Hmmm I can’t say I’ve noticed this to be an issue with mine. Are you on a Pro Max? Extra weight maybe emphasising it?

Pleasantly surprised with the FineWoven cases!

They feel a lot like suede, and even when scratched, looks like when leather or suede is scuffed. Over time, I can see the scuffs blending into each other, creating a unique and personal pattern. Just like leather patina.

And compared to how Apple leather cases have been like of late, I’d rather this kind of aging. And the material seems durable enough, and likely won’t rip like the silicon cases.

I was not sure, but now seriously considering one, if I decide to take a break from caseless.

Give it a chance
