Just wait until iJustine chimes in about the case lol

Why don't you try it and get back to us?
😅

Shall do. Picking it up tomorrow with the phone, so I’ll report back after the first few days. It’s the long term durability I’m more interested in though. Not too worried about the first few scuffs. But we’ll see…

The edges will wear and within months we will see complaints for sure. Nice looking when new but the patina effect will no doubt receive mixed reviews I would imagine.

I never buy Apple’s cases personally as they are notoriously poor on quality and overpriced IMHO.

What do you think?

I’m not too sure on this case, I will see how it feels tomorrow when I receive my iPhone but most likely going to return.

I returned my taupe case and am keeping pacific blue instead. Taupe color was a major disappointment and looked very bland, but to my eyes the pacific blue looks like better quality, and not as much of a magnet for dirt and stains as taupe, and will blend nicely with my black iPhone.

Already covered that. A video where someone pulls something apart for the views, tells us nothing at all to the way this will last, and wear, in the real world.

Shock horror, a phone case with memory foam in to make it more comfortable to hold. Sorry. But the fact they’re using that as a reason to hate on a phone case, tells me everything I need to know about this guy.

Actually I may return my leather sofa, becuase the manufacturer put padding in. I wanted to sit directly on the wooden frame dammit!

Edit, typos etc

So basically same as the silicon ones?

Just received my mulberry FineWoven case and it’s definitely interesting.

- Back feels soft and velvety and suede like. There seems to be some padding and bounce to it
- Sides seem to be somewhere between hard plastic and nylon. If you look closely you can see a fabric type pattern
- Feels thinner and lighter than a silicone case
- Back seems to attract fluff and lint quite easily. I’ll be applying a scotch guard spray or similar to make it more water repellant.

Keen to see pics of other colours and your thoughts!

Did you get around to spraying the case with Scotchguard? I was thinking of doing the same but not sure how much that would help with the scratches.

My FineWoven case / MagSafe wallet in Evergreen.

The colour is darker than anticipated but I still vibe with it.

In terms of my initial impressions:

Does it feel as premium as leather? No
Is it overpriced? Yes (though you can say about many Apple products)
Do I hate it? No
Am I returning it? Also no.
Does it feel nice? Yes, though in a completely different way to leather. It's very soft and feels nice in the hand.

I do have doubts about it's long term durability but time will tell on that front. I'm not going to go out of my way to scratch or damage it, though.

So in hand (with no phone),

Honestly I kind of like it. It feels nice. Looks good.

But 1) it’s absolutely not a replacement to the leather. They should have presented it as a new offering and just scrapped the leather instead of presenting it as a replacement. It ain’t.

2) I do have real concerns about durability in both appearance and the adhesive.

I like it but ehhhhhhhhhh

Did you just open it? There's already a ton of lint stuck to it.

I'm sorry but that looks like an Ali Express knock off.

i usually rock my phone naked, but I have sometimes buy cases for scratch protection only-- especially if I plan to be doing a lot of traveling or similar. I loved Apple's leather case for this purpose, because it was minimal, looked nice, and added very little bulk to the phone. Was hoping FineWoven could fill that gap, but damn, based on what I'm seeing, I'd rather just go with the silicone case.

Screw it! After much debate, I ordered the taupe for my natural titanium PM. I need to see it in person. It looks good in some lighting and videos and a little too dark in others.
