Definitely liking the color and the feel in hand (better grip than silicone) but very uncertain about how it will hold up in every day use. I wish someone would make a good fitting leather case that doesn’t weigh a ton. There’s still nothing like the feel of leather. And Apple up until this point has made the best fitting MagSafe leather cases.
Thanks for sharing pics! The pacific blue looks much better in real life photos.

The person that needs proof should watch that video where the guy put his nail on it and you have the result of an irrefutable proof. Let me get it to you with the time where that happens so that you can ask proofs but not seek for it.

That's what got me too! Almost couldn't believe it. Granted I think their old leather cases used to do the same. But, that one scene in that video was enough for me to stay away. Imagine accidentally putting that in your pocket with your keys. Oof

Already returned a 'finewoven' case and wallet at an Apple Store this morning. Holy heck that crap is beyond ugly. Yay for carbon footprint reduction, thumbs up on that. How about pleather instead? That has a much lower carbon footprint compared to leather production, and looks a hell of a lot better than this finewoven garbage.
You’re seeing the green side but not the green 💰 side

Received mine today, I like the feel and thinness but I immediately left a scratch in it that I couldn't get out (or over). I was kind of excited for these new cases, but I'll be going with another brand this year. :( At $40 I'd be okay with this, but $63 USD after tax is a no from me, dawg.

May pick up either a Benks ArmorAir or Nomad leather case. Hmm...
Just buy the £10 fakes from aliexpress- fool and his money….

I’m on the fence. It’s certainly not as nice as the leather and not worth the price. Student/Perks discount helps a bit. I like the colour (Pacific Blue). I’m going to use it on the phone when it arrives on Friday. I will have a few days left in my return window. I’m hoping it will be an easy decision after using it ‘normally’ for a few days.

What bothers me the most is that Apple emphasizes the “sustainability” of FineWoven cases but then cuts down on quality and releases products that basically have to be exchanged every year if you want a good looking case. The key to sustainability is longevity. Apple stopped making great leather cases with the introduction of the iPhone 12. Prior to that, my Apple leather cases held up years and looked better with every year of age. Apple gave up on quality cases years ago - it baffles me that this is something new for people.

They should really invest in their R&D for materials if they abandon leather. FineWoven can’t be the solution.

I had the 11 Pro leather and now 13 Pro leather. 11 was top notch in quality, 13 Pro leather cases damaged after 6 months...

It's funny what apple says on product description, given that you can very easily scratch it:

Like every Apple-designed case, it undergoes thousands of hours of testing throughout the design and manufacturing process. So not only does it look great, it’s built to protect your iPhone from scratches and drops.
This high-quality case is made to be durable and protect your iPhone. The FineWoven material may show wear over time. Interaction with MagSafe accessories will leave slight imprints. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use an iPhone 15 Pro Silicone Case or Clear Case.

I think I'll go for silicone this year.... tho I kinda like the fine woven thing, I can only imagine it scratched everywhere, dusty (like office chairs)

I'm noticing some people here and elsewhere (who haven't personally touched the case) defend the FW case simply due to the vegan aspect of it.

There are better ways to have a vegan case. This one being the choice does not help your cause, because it'll just first make people seek out non-vegan options.

I do not believe the issue is that this isn't leather. The issue is that this material is crap.

Canvas is a much more durable material. This is tissue paper almost.
Without wishing to argue more (genuinely) I’m hoping there is some durability to it, given it’s also a watch strap. So it must be relatively robust otherwise watches would be falling off wrists. The biggest issue will be stains I think (and therefore sweat marks on the strap 🤨🥴).

I got my Toupe FW and Clay silicone cases yesterday from Madrid Apple Store. So far, so good. Colors aren't 100% accurate neither in the box nor over Apple website, but that's hardly a surprise. In any case both colours look nice and a good fit for the new 15 Pro colours.

Finewoven looks ok. It feels well built and engineered, it doesn't have a cheap feeling to me, just totally different to a leather case. Last three years Apple leather cases have been very very bad, they lost their touch with the iPhone 12 and I hated those dark stains they developed instead of the nice patina of ages past, so I'm more than happy to try a new material.

I'm convinced Apple is doing greenwashing here though, I doubt that memory foam, inks, and side materials can be good for the environment. But, as a material it feels interesting, and only time will tell if it's as bad as Apple leather or not. We need to wait and give it a go. Those expecting a leather substitute will be very disappointed.

Here's Taupe and Clay, side by side... I'm ready for a muted Autumn this year :)

Tricky question :)

- the silicone case will do pretty much the same as all previous iterations.... I take fair care of my cases and I have never experienced a single issue with silicone cases. The color is fairly dark so in my case it will do just fine. I'm 100% sure. (I've been using Apple silicone cases for years and years).

- the fine woven one is uncharted territory... It feels like it might get stained easily based on the texture when I touch it, it's a fairly light color so it will probably be more noticeable than in the other season colors, if it happens. I'm considering a spray of a water repellent nano-coating protection I usually use for my shoes from Camper... but I'm not convinced I should do it... it's probably better to just try and see what happens. This might be my last finewoven case if it doesn't fair well....

Just picked up another white ocean band for my Apple Watch ultra. Just can’t get the stains off after a year. Light colors are tuff.
