Some men's trouser pockets, especially suit pockets, and even jeans pockets, can struggle with modern iPhones. Maybe properly made, square bottomed pockets will come back into fashion.

Don't even speak about women's trousers and their silly little pretend pockets haha
Mens shorts also have small pockets. I bought a Galaxy Flip so I could still have a phone in my pocket when wearing shorts. (yes, I have both iPhone and Android phones)

I dont care about additional ounces if it means better battery life.

But it looks like new chips might be really power hungry.
Agreed about battery life, the more the better, regardless of weight.

I'm confused about the statement that the chips might be really power hungry. Are you thinking they're just pumping more power through them to boost performance instead of doing the 3nm process? Or that the expected 3nm process for the A17 doesn't have improved power efficiency?

People worried about weight well the pros will be using Titanium which will be lighter than the current build.
Maybe, but I'm not convinced since it'll have a heavier battery. We'll just have to wait and see the real specs to know for sure.

Tiny phone, tiny battery life, no way around this currently. If you want a battery that last any from 24hrs to 3 days depending on usage then you'll have to go Pro Max.
I’m getting 24 hours to 3 days from my iPhone mini, and previously from the 1st-gen SE. It really depends on usage.

But, people here believe that the 3nm process for the A17 (whatever number gets into the Pro models) is soooo power efficient, why would apple increase the battery capacity?
Yeah, that doesn't make sense.

I use the 12mini.

Last week I was visiting a larger city.
Using Airpods and Maps every now and then my phone would give me about 4-5h of usage.
That is just bad.
Imagine I was using an Apple Watch as well.

At this point iPhones are very far from having a great battery life.
My opinion.
Happy to hear your thoughts!
No not the iPhones, just your 12 mini, same as SE terrible battery life, which is why it didn't sell well!
The 13 mini, will give u 6-7 hrs in that scenario and the 13 & 13 Pro 8-9 hrs.
8-9 hrs is plenty for anybody and the 13 Mini is fine for normal users, stop complaining and upgrade your 12 mini 😊

iPhone 15 mini would have been better than iPhone 15 plus.
If they make it with Pro materials, I'll be upgrading in a flash from my 13 pro, although apart from the size and weight, no complaints with the 13 pro

The 13 mini was a pretty big improvement over the 12 mini for me with battery life. Ideally I'd like to see Apple go with something in between the 13 mini and the 14 size, like the 5.8" on the X or Xs but with the slimmer body and bezels so it is actually smaller and lighter than the X or Xs was. One of my pet peeves with the 12/13 mini was that the screen was actually narrower than the 6/7/8/SE2/SE3 and even though the overall screen was bigger with that aspect ratio change and it being narrower didn't always feel like it. But everyone has their own opinion on what would be better.
13 Mini was a huge upgrade over the 12 Mini for me as well. 12 Mini was a great idea, but battery life held it back. 13 Mini perfected the concept of a Mini phone. My battery is taking a hit now (88% capacity) and I plan to switch back to the Pro line with the 15 since I miss the telephoto lens and battery life but I'll be keeping my Mini in case I ever want to switch back.

I am all for a bigger battery. My 14Pro battery is atrocious, can’t wait to get rid of this phone.

Now…what do we think the price increase will be? $1099 starting for 15Pro?

Oh my god. And we also have 3nm.. so battery life will go 2x! Apple overpowered all other computer companies and now it finishes all other smart phone companies.. yes man!

The most important aspect of larger batteries is that the life expectancy of your phone will also increase. After a certain number of charging circles the battery loses a lot of its power. So if a charging circle is longer, the whole phone will also live longer. The same is true with storage. You basically can't have enough of it, because if you have a lot of storage, the number of write cycles of every bit will go down and your storage will survive longer. So if you have they money, always go for a large storage.

Yup, but most people want to have the biggest screen that can display short form video the longest. Personally that’s not how I use my phone though.

Anyway the main issue is plain old battery tech, hope there is some way of improvement sometime soon.
That's not factually true, the standard 13 & 13 Pro last year outsold the 13 Pro Max sales, by a long way, the fact is, large phones like the Pro Max, have approx 30-35% of the market, which substantial, but certainly not most!
The 15 Pro Max, will probably get a larger share, but not because of the screen size, rather due to the fact that it will be the only phone with the telescopic zoom lens

Phones have gotten bigger over the years and the mini is dead. You’re comparing last year’s models without factoring in price. The trend is definitely big screens.

Constructive. "Oh, you prefer lighter phones? Go change your physical characteristics or switch brands then."
Just giving suggestions. Don’t have to change physic at all. Buy a mini or change brands. Pretty simple. Don’t complain when there are options.

Everyone wants better battery life. Well, hate to break it to you, batteries are heavy, even in a compact size.

What else you got?

Luckily for them, most women carry hand bags and their phones in them

Last years prices are the same as this year, so nothing to factor in!
This year hasn't finished yet, therefore no accurate details available for the full year, however the standard 14 is outselling the Pro max & the standard pro is outselling the 14 plus, so where do you get these trends of yours from?

But it's not the majority is it, just a vocal minority!
Which begs the question: why Apple goes for bigger battery and doesn’t even show any sign of reversing the trend? Are they building Devices for elites? Or is Apple just trying to appease as many customers as possible?

If Apple did a slim phone with less battery life (the type we all used to moan about) or a thicker phone with more battery life (the type we moan about now), which would you choose?
The one that, after six months, could last out a full day.
