More battery is good. Don't know how anyone can complain about that. If you think iPhone is too heavy then that's your problem.
I would rewrite your words to say:
Battery is already plenty adequate. Don't know how anyone can complain about that. If you cannot find charging during your day, get a battery bank. Do not make the rest of us carry around battery we do not need.

Not trying to sound or be negative but I don’t know why people are not happy with this news. More battery life is always a welcome change and we all should welcome that. People get used to the weight of the iPhone regardless of what it's going to be.

Rest assured, I'll take more battery life over the weight.

Coming from my 13 Pro, the 15 Pro Max (Ultra) is shaping up to be quite a nice replacement for me. I’m pumped.
Are you going with the pro max this time because you want a bigger screen? I have the 13 pro and going to the 15 pro max size this time. I had the 11 pro max and tried to downsize but missed the bigger screen and battery life.

Yes of course. But it also depends whether more people use their phones on the move or there are more people who use their phones near a charger. It’s a bit of a give and take.

I think it’s really safe to assume there’s more of the former than the latter.
Folks who cannot charge (most often because they simply fail to implement MagSafe charging where feasible) can choose among dozens of battery banks to add capacity. But folks like me cannot take the extra battery size/weight out of an iPhone.

P.S. I am one of the folks in the more people use their phones on the move cohort, but setting up straightforward MagSafe charging at work/home/car easily keeps my heavily used iP14 Pro charged.

Are you going with the pro max size again this year? I tried to downsize from the 11 pro max to the 13 pro and i missed the bigger screen and battery so will be going with the pro max again and sticking with that model from now.

Tighten your belt or hit the gym. They aren’t that heavy. Or buy a cheap, plastic Android. :)
13 Pro Max with a light case on it pulls me pants down and shows off my dazzling Reg Grundies! Nothing to do with hand/arm strength. The thing is a brick!

Some will want more battery life, some will want lighter. Everybody has a different use case.

Yep, battery life and screen size. I could honestly care less about any other features. I used to always have the Plus model iPhones (6, 6 Plus, 7 Plus) then went to the XR and regretted, 11 Pro, 13 Pro, but I’m going back to the bigger phone.

Yeah I think the pro max size will be my choice from now on. Not going back to the pro size.

Ha!

Brutal, but adequate :)

I drove a Kia Niro to Pennsylvania (and back) last year . . . it was my sincerest expectation to plan-for--and avail myself--of the charging stations along the way.

Was not prepared to purchase a multi-kW battery backup that would--effectively--consume my trunk space.

I really wanted to side-swipe the trip into wVA, but the available charging stations are *cough* not as available as they are in VA and PA <tounge-in-cheek shrugs>

That 15 Pro Max render looks fantastic. Is it expected to have even smaller bezels?

They already are delicate enough without soft titanium

Personally I skipped the 14, will probably also skip the 15, hopefully the 16 will be a fresh design with some cool features

More battery is more better, IF you can do it without going backwards and making the phone even heavier and thicker
I managed several TiBooks rigorously used, and no one called them soft. Alloys are used to achieve whatever hardness is desired.

The iPhone 15 lineup will feature significantly larger batteries across the board, according to an alleged Foxconn worker speaking to ITHome.

iphone-15-dummy-model-lineup.jpg

iPhone 15 lineup dummy models.

The information claims that the iPhone 15 will feature an 18% larger battery, iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro a 14% larger battery, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max a 12% larger battery. The exact capacity changes are said to be as follows:

202120222023
iPhone 13: 3,227mAhiPhone 14: 3,279mAhiPhone 15: 3,877mAh
iPhone 13 mini: 2,406mAhiPhone 14 Plus: 4,325mAhiPhone 15 Plus: 4,912mAh
iPhone 13 Pro: 3,095mAhiPhone 14 Pro: 3,200mAhiPhone 15 Pro: 3,650mAh
iPhone 13 Pro Max: 4,352mAhiPhone 14 Pro Max: 4,323mAhiPhone 15 Pro Max: 4,852mAh

If correct, the changes would mean that the 15 Plus would increase its battery capacity lead over the Pro Max model even further, while the 15 Pro would remain the iPhone with the smallest battery. The source is without a proven track record, but the alleged capacities seem plausible, especially given the fact that this year's iPhone models are expected to get slightly thicker, providing more internal space for larger batteries. With the efficiency improvements of the A16 and A17 Bionic chips, it seems highly likely that the entire iPhone lineup could boast battery life improvements this year.

ITHome also highlighted separate information purportedly coming out of Foxconn that is circulating on Weibo saying that the iPhone 15 Pro will begin with 256GB of storage as standard, doubling the current 128GB base storage configuration. This would also be a key differentiator between the Pro and non-Pro models, since the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are still expected to start with 128GB of storage.

iPhone 15 Plus: 4,912mAh, yet the more expensive (rumoured titanium, rumoured periscope lens) top of the line iPhone 15 Pro Max ONLY gets 4,852mAh battery?!

IF this rumour actually becomes fact in announced and shipping products THEN we'll know 2 HARD FACTS!
1. The iPhone Plus is REALLY failing and this is Apple's BIG push to make it relevant! Something they did far less with the 13 mini (it also didn't get ANY marketing beyond selecting the regular iPhone on ANY global sites to see it)!
2. Apple's SALES and MARKETING team are in full charge of the development of the iPhones - which is a HUGE mistake!

Well I'm sure most of us are keen enough to know this already.

That got me thinking, Yay :)

I use my 12-mini as an ad-hoc communication device (though I admit to watching a few Tics (and a Toc, on occasion)).

Yeah; I will eventually have to acclimatize to the increased weightiness of such things.

I repeatedly lift and human-handle 90-180kg objects every day . . . it's not that I can't lift a 100/200g device.

I really enjoy the utility of my Kershaw pocket-knife, but--of course--I'm talking about a 7g object ;)

I like small!

Maybe when the phone capabilities are passed to the AW, I will eventually be satisfied.

As to your #2, the very definition of marketing is to figure out what people want/need/can buy.

Also (just a coincidence due to vision deterioration) I will be buying the 15 Pro Ultra or whatever they call it this year, and I am thrilled that it will see lesser battery increase than other models. :)

Yes! iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB all the way. Will be ordering 2- a new color along with the silver iPhone 15 Pro Max 1TB as well.

I have never downgraded. No point in going down in sizes especially if you are used to a Pro Max screen. It’s probably the worst and the most annoying mistake you can make. I remember during Covid season I downgraded to the iPhone 12 Pro model since Pro Max was launching almost 2 months later and it was the dumbest mistake ever. Never ever again!

Bottom line: Order the Pro Max version. More screen, more battery life, easier to navigate.

Yeah, my Flexon Ti frames are about as durable as durable gets...

...once drove a skid-steer over a pair, and I was able to wear 'em upon discovery ;)

Not that I could expect to do the same with an iP, but hey!

Small is good but I’ll take more battery life & more screen ratio over anything.

Sounds like we need. Walkie-talkie app just for the iPhone :)

Yeah the pro max version will be my size of choice now. Never going to downgrade again as I immediately regretted it.

For some reason this makes the 15p bezels look thicker than the 14p
100% agreed! I think so too but it will be flushed under the Titanium frame thus the bezels will get slimmer. That’s my intake on that. Can’t believe we’re only 2 months away from finally seeing one. Lots of changes coming!

I really love the idea of five-day phone batteries, but I ain't holdin' me breath ;)

I have an v9 iPad for more-than-mobile; and, multiple Macs @home for the full Full-Iron-Maiden-Christmas-Tree desktop experience.

Still, I am quite pleased the AAPL created (and extensively-produced) the Mini variant.

Good times to be alive ;)

I'm actively waiting for the Dick Tracy video-wrist-phone <smile>

Yes it’s about time as well, a bigger battery along with the new chip should be a big help with battery life. The weight should be more than offset by the titanium frame if it happens.
