iOS 26 has breathed new life into my 15pm. Feels like a new phone. Super fast and light.

Originally posted. Currently at 99% health (103% coconutBattery) and 191 cycles. :)

Here is to my fellow iPhone 15 owners. To another year or more!

Good to know, will take the plunge this weekend.

Seeing how bad my battery is compared to others here makes me wonder what Im doing different. It charges during daily commutes running carplay and I even set the battery to max 80% charge a few months ago. I dont use low battery mode because I hate how quick the display turns off.

Well, your cycle count is quite high… Mine is at 348 with 94 % left. My best advice would be to try to never let the battery go below 20 % - from my experience that’s what is most damaging to battery life. From what I’ve read, these types of batteries are doing best when they are at around 50-60 %. So I try to keep my battery between 40-80 %, but some will say that’s unnecessary "babying" of the battery. And it probably is, but I plan to keep my phone for several years more.

Battery health dropped by 1% to 83% with 449 cycles after remaining at 84% for quite some time on my 15 Pro Max.

Hopefully I’ll have my new 17PM in 16 more days and can get rid of the horrible battery in this 15PM.
I do agree that the battery life in the 15pro is trash. Honestly the iPhone 15pro is one of my least favorite  products I’ve ever owned and I’ve been a Mac user for over 24 years and had the original phone as well along with many others. To the point it made me actually think about switching to an android.

Just checked my battery for the first time in a while…(iPhone 15)…

Cycle Count: 289
Battery Health: 94%
First Use: February 2024

Apple says this is as expected.

Tomorrow I’ll be 2 weeks in with my 17PM and I couldn’t be happier. The battery life has been fantastic. Of course with it being a new device it’ll be better, but I only have to charge once a day and I’m loving the bigger screen.

If any of you are curious what it looks like when you replace a battery in an old phone - from the view point of coconutBattery... (My wife's 15 Pro Max iPhone):

Apple Health showed 84% - it was barely making it through a day (she's a heavy user).

We also got rid of her Belkin wireless stand because I was noticing it was baking the phone at 105F+ (I just happened to use her stand and then plug my phone into coconutBattery to see the battery temp). So we're thinking that may have had an impact.

15PM
Max capacity 87% with 253 cycles. First used April 2024.
Planning to upgrade to 17PM, but not right away.

15 PRO

I’m bringing my A game.

Out of curiosity, what is everyone’s average screen on time nowadays? I find myself needing to charge this phone multiple times throughout the day, but I guess it is to be expected at my current battery capacity.

I also have most of my location services on and weather location set to ‘always’ so I can get my severe weather notification. Is everyone here also doing the same?

I was wondering if the battery has been replaced by Apple. Asking because Apple almost always refuses to replace the battery unless <80% even if you pay full amount, and wanted to get tips on how you achieved it.

Apple Store did it. I've had them refuse to replace batteries in the past (iPhone 11 days) when it was >80% but my wife's 84% health battery - they just stated: "It would be free if you waited till it got below 80%." We acknowledged since we had AppleCare+ and said we wanted it replaced anyway and they happily did it.

In the US, they're not supposed to deny iPhone battery service even if it's above 80%. You'll just need to pay. That was part of their resolution for #battery-gate.

The iPads weren't part of #battery-gate so for those, they require <80%.
