I’m all for the curved edges. I thought I wanted the square edges until I purchased an iPhone SE (2022). Rounded edges are so much more pleasant. They don’t dig into your skin and they make the edge swipe gestures much more comfortable.

This isn’t rounded edges. It’s just curved bezels.

I don't mind if it gets edge-to-edge so long as it doesn't have a curved edge to the glass. I always put a glass screen protector on my iPhone and having curved glass just created issues with that. But I can also live without an edge-to-edge design in general.
Disclaimerism: Not expecting to get a 15. And that haptic button stuff has me scratching my head and losing some more hair. What happens when the phone gets wet? My 12 was rendered useless a few days ago when pouring rain seeped under face cover. (via the openings for the notch).

I’m assuming that means the glass itself is rounded off on the corners? It’d still be a step in the right direction and solve the ergonomics issue at hand, I think.

Nice.
Innovative?, NOOOOPE.
Late to the party?, yeap.
“Improved camera” (by software) + smaller edges (no curved screen, just curved metal edges of the game) is enough to call it IPhone 15 pro??? And pay as if it were a new device???

Tim Cook says… Yes!

I have a tip for you:

Stop using piece of trash screen protectors. They feel like ****, they look like ****, and they scratch 10 times easier than the glass on your insanely expensive device utilizing some of the best engineered glass on the planet.
Best engineered glass on the planet still comes scratched straight out of the box on many handsets delivered to me. They went straight back to Apple. Over time even the iPhone 14 Pro glass scratches like hell just look at the display models at the store.

I dislike screen protectors. However, the glass Apple is using now is pathetically scratch-prone. I’ve never had a phone scratch like this. I use good practice to keep it scratch free and it is all for nil.

They say that glass is scratch resistant or starter resistant, and that you only get to pick one. Well, as someone who seldom drops my phone, I am not happy with this compromise.

Meh. The bezels on the current iphones are already pretty thin. I don’t think slightly thinner bezels on the next iphone are THAT big of a deal.

I always use glass protectors since even just sliding the phone in and out of my empty pocket causes scratches, and I baby all my tech devices.

How is "Not upgrading" not an option?
I'm genuinely curious how your life would be negatively impacted if you were to use a previous years' device.
Honestly, I don’t know how to answer your question. Been upgrading back to back, nonstop since 2008, iPhone 3GS days. Never skipped a year. I really don’t know what it’s going to feel like. If I don’t upgrade my OCD will kick in and it will be hard to go to sleep at night. So I don’t even bother not thinking about not upgrading. It’s done every year by default.

Although I appreciate the work Apple has done, I’ve always found these images to be a bit disingenuous at best and downright deceptive at worst. The text on the Apple Watch isn’t anywhere near as close to the edge as these PR images indicate.
I agree! The renders do make it look very nice edge to edge but in reality, it's not too close. I guess it’s just a cool PR images.

Remember when ridiculous mock-ups like this would appear every year?

People were actually convinced the side of the phone would be a continuation of the screen. It made no sense from a case or grip standpoint.

To me it’s simple, the sides could just be like a continuation of the wallpaper and NOT be touch sensitive, or only work in certain apps for specific things. That way it wouldn’t matter.

Embrace the future my friend.

Edit: iPhone autocorrect strikes again! Fixed now..

I start feeling that apple will start seeing sales dropping and dropping. People will will not purchase a new iPhone with irrelevant upgrades in a very unstable economic reality

I don’t think you would like that. Be careful of what you ask for. Below the original iPhone running iOS 16.3. It just looks weird. Where do we start? 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️

Who said anything about looks? I think he meant the internals and compatibility with current sw. Anyways the iOS 16 looks almost identical to iOS 7 which worked perfectly fine on this screen size so what's your point?
