i wouldn't mind if apple ditches the mute switch. it's a waste of space and they can easily implement a software alternative...oh wait they already have!

they can also get rid of the volume buttons too for all i care. all i need is a power button and a usb c port!
Still using iPhone mini. I don’t want or need a miniature iPad to make calls and read messages/emails.
hope your tiny phone with its tiny battery lives a long life because there ain't gonna be another mini. looks like you'll need to leave iPhone if you want a small phone in the future. ooooh android! 👻

How is that a tired design when it offers overall functionality. It gets the job done just fine on the go. Imagine you have to mute your iPhone and haptic buttons acts up. Thus, requiring you to restaurant your iPhone. Just to mute! 🔇
I don't know why you'd go to a restuarant to mute your phone when you can just go into Control Center/Settings

3: Turn Volume Down All the Way in Control Center / Settings

You can also manually put your iPhone into silent mode by going to Control Center or Settings and sliding the Volume slider all the way to mute.

Swipe down from the top right corner to access Control Center, then drag the Volume slider all the way to the bottom until the iPhone is on silent mode and muted.

You will need to return to Control Center to get the iPhone to unmute and play sound and audio again, assuming the Mute / Silent switch is not working.

Remember when Tim Cook said he would put a damper on leaks? We 6 months out and can practically build our own iPhone 15
Every new leak I’m reminded how they were going to double down, and then again identify those who leaked.

Thing is, I feel like it’s not anyone directly at Apple, but a close supplier contact. Doesn’t seem like they can do much about that.

Not as thin as I thought, doesn’t look that noticeable just the the 14 pro got slightly slimmer and still looks big

Thanks for the tip but that seems like too much work 😵‍💫

It seems a lot of people are switching to android for various reasons. Apple needs to start listening to their customer base or it might find itself without customers.

Agreed. It’s absolutely insane they are even just entertaining the notion of removing the mute switch. This alone is a good reason never to get the iPhone 15 pro.
I wonder how much money Apple is going to save on not making the physical mute button and mute orange color strip anymore.

If you look in the Settings preferences it seems Apple may have been moving in this direction as haptic feedback is available for the ringer.

That being said it can probably be implemented with a two finger press and again to deactivate it or slide up/down for volume and double press for ringer and single press for photo, just some options.

I have rarely used the ringer mute switch and I have owned many iPhone models. If it stays or not I would not effect me but others may have to adapt in the short term.

Three steps instead of one when your phone is locked and no longer able to mute your phone without even looking. What a usability revolution.

What do I get in return? Can I then use the phone underwater for 20 mins more?

If that’s the case, Apple needs to consider bringing back 3D Touch!
