Does this look like the iPhone revenues is declining?

View attachment 2168743
Apple with the 14 line up has its first loss at a major launch for the first time since 2019.
As someone that’s invested in Apple, yes it absolutely looks like Apples current strategy is not producing the desired effect. Which a new display and camera technology being launched in the 14 it’s a net loss for apple. It doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world, not even close.
But it does show consumers are lack luster with the current offerings from Apple.
Go look up the fact more people are looking into and researching the 14 line up , but adoption is low.
Current iPhone owners have been extremely slow to upgrade and adopt the 14 lineup. And if the 15 lineup looks pretty much like the 14, it’s going to be more of the same and sales will continue to decline.

I think it’s getting worse. As you said, 6 months remaining, and we already have almost complete picture of how iPhone 15 will look like.
It's as bad as movies anymore. Used to worry about spoilers after stuff came out. Now you have to be on guard a year before already. Could produce the whole movie yourself before it's even out.

So you dislike the Dynamic Island because apps expand it for various reasons, and there goes your screen real estate? Interesting. Isn't the space being used of some value in itself?
The dynamic island makes watching videos terrible. Playing games are terrible. Areas where you need to touch the screen for movement or selecting anything is completely nullified. The dynamic island could literally be two tiny hole punches, but Apple won’t do it. They have to attach a gimmick to everything.

Not going to lie. 100% agreed with this Tweet. Im not sure how I feel about Apple Removing the mute switch now.

Yep. I REALLY hope this rumor is false. I don’t want any of the buttons to be haptic. I liked the haptic home button just fine. But all side buttons need to be physical because, you know, cases!! Unless there is some way case manufacturers can make cases that will work reliably with the haptic buttons. And even then, the mute switch needs to stay physical.

Sorry I should have clarified my statement. I wish that the blacked out pixels would illuminate when DI is not in action and when it does go to action they simply black out again.

Yes, the little bit of extra pixels in between the camera and face id is minuscule. However, I feel any more pixels is welcome for immersion vs. not.

Seems weird that those screens don’t have a single DI shape. Almost like they all made back when the rumors said they would be separate shapes.

If that’s the case, Apple needs to consider bringing back 3D Touch!

While I liked 3DTouch and it was a unique feature evidently even Apple could not figure a way to make it work with all its apps and developers didn’t support it either due to potential complexity. I feel Apple has made its long term decision and it’s Haptic which is expanding to certain physical aspects of the device.

Physically, the iPhone 14 Pro is still like that. They just black out the pixels in that area to have a continuous shape, that’s how they are able to have the microphone and camera indicators in there

i wouldn't mind if apple ditches the mute switch. it's a waste of space and they can easily implement a software alternative...oh wait they already have!

they can also get rid of the volume buttons too for all i care. all i need is a power button and a usb c port!

hope your tiny phone with its tiny battery lives a long life because there ain't gonna be another mini. looks like you'll need to leave iPhone if you want a small phone in the future. ooooh android! 👻
What an ass!

I don't know why you'd go to a restuarant to mute your phone when you can just go into Control Center/Settings

3: Turn Volume Down All the Way in Control Center / Settings

You can also manually put your iPhone into silent mode by going to Control Center or Settings and sliding the Volume slider all the way to mute.

Swipe down from the top right corner to access Control Center, then drag the Volume slider all the way to the bottom until the iPhone is on silent mode and muted.

You will need to return to Control Center to get the iPhone to unmute and play sound and audio again, assuming the Mute / Silent switch is not working.
No good. This works _only_ if you chose the option to control alert sounds using the volume buttons. If you, like most people, don’t want your alert sounds changing every time you adjust the volume you need the mute button. There is a reason why it was implemented this way in the beginning.

The DI shape is generated by software turning off those pixels. It is not printed on the screen.

The current one is a tired design that hasn’t changed since the first iPhone.

Completely untrue, unless you just mean the fact that it’s a switch. The original switches were almost like a toggle. With the 4 body it changed completely.

I’m sure Apple will offer a mute switch dongle for those who need it. Something like this:

It would only make sense if they bring back (?) the mute / silent icon for the status bar. I think we had it at some point? Or maybe it was a jailbreak tweak
And you’re sure the majority of users don’t just leave the phone on mute like decent folks would do in the first place, exceptions excluded?

You would think so but I have noticed the trend seems to go in the opposite direction again. The amount of people with the keyboard noises being on 😵‍💫 probably the same people that shout their voice messages out in public

I understand Apple wants the iPhone to be buttonless but they should not be removing the Mute switch. It’s extremely functional and gets the job done on the go!
Just activate it from the control center, the same way as the focus mode. That's not so difficult.
Instead, you'd receive more valuable benefits: automatization of the silent mode and a silent mode indicator 🔕 on the screen.

In summary, Apple has six months to fix last year’s imbecile idea and bring the sim tray back (US). It reminds me of the cretin who wiped out all the ports on the MBP, only to later bring them back.
