I'm maxing out my iPhone X to 2025, so the iPhone 17 Pro Max is looking more likely to be my upgrade cycle.
Dude! That’s way too far. Who wants to wait that long? I don’t even think your iPhone battery will survive. 💀

How many hours of battery usage do you get? 3 hours?!!

Just upgrade and make Tim Cook happy! 🫰🏻

I was in a similar situation... Bought an iPhone 7 Plus, a 2016 model in November 2020 and now purchased an iPhone 14 Pro Max, a 2022 model in April 2023... Even though the actual gap between the devices is less than 3 years, the year of release is 6 years apart...

Was hoping it would be a 10x
You wouldn’t be able to hold that much zoom steady.

While many people could hold 7-8X (~186-208mm equivalent) steady, 6X (~156mm equivalent) is what most people could steadily hold free hand. And 6X is a nice round 2X above the 3X.

I do not want a huge phone; I will never buy the Max. But the feature I want most is additional camera optical zoom. So if they leave 6x out of the 15 Pro, I will either hold onto my existing phone or start looking at Android. I hate doing this, but Apple isn't giving me a choice.

I take it off the charger at 6:15 AM and its probably down to 20% by 5 PM, 10% by the time I get in the house. When I take into consideration what I am using: MS Teams, Outlook, Service Now, Twitter, Facebook, Safari, I'm truly surprised I make it through the day. But I have a charger at work, so during lunch I sometimes remember to charge it up. Battery health is around 79%.

Tim is gonna roll out the red carpet when I'm ready to upgrade. 😄

10x or bust in 2023, 5-6x is pathetic, why even use a periscope for such little change?
So Apple can milk it over a few generations.

2023- 6x 15 Pro Max only
2024 - 6x added to 16 Pro, 8x added to 16 Pro Max, Ultra model with 10x?
2025 - 8x added to 17 Pro, 10x added to 17 Pro Max
2026 - 10x added to 18 Pro
