I guarantee this segmentation is going to continue. It's their new strategy. Soon, there will be different features across four product lines (Standard, Plus, Pro and Pro Max) that will filter down to the lower levels each successive year.
Erm….hasn’t that been the case since literally the beginning of pro models? See the notch for example

Source is probably reviewers. Hundreds of them are reviewing the devices right now.

When Apple finally adopts vapor chamber cooling, the wattage will probably increase. We've seen how 27W affects iPhone 14 Pro battery health. Bumping that up without cooling might not be a good idea.
this statement is false, i’ve been using my day 1 , 14 pro max with anker 150w charger literally every day. and my battery health is 100%

Meanwhile, Android users get 60.
I know Apple does not want to play catchup, but now they are just falling behind industry standards.
I hate it.
That’s why their batteries always end up being duds. Fast charging is nice, but it’s a pain in the long term. Apple devices can still have 90% battery health after two years of use.

Aren’t some Android phone over 100 now?

And it’s over 200, and they can do some pretty crazy wireless charging speeds too. You’d think Apple could safely bump this up a bit?

Correct. You could plug the iPhone 15 into a 500 watt power supply and it would still only pull 27 watts max

What do you think of this UGREEN 130W car charger? It can fast charge two iPhones at 27W via USB-C or 100W MBP 14" or MBA 15", 1 USB-C iPhone & other USB-A devices

What about this UGREEN 145W power bank that can fast charge a 100W MBP 14" or MBA 15", iPhone & other devices.

I think they're creating an environment for the Redmi owner to replace their phones faster.

Seeming they're a smaller player their branding can take a hit in quality and reliability.

I charge as slow as I possibly can, and avoid full charging. Health after a year of use is usually 97% or higher. And trust me, I use the heck out of my devices. Batch photo edits (from my Mirrorless camera) as well as 4K video editing to post on clients social media during sporting events.

Amazed they charge as fast as they do when I connect to something with higher amps, but rarely do.

I do exactly this or the exact opposite, the area in between is the no man's land where you won't hit your AC+ replacement fast enough!

(Yes, I consider the environment in needless replacements, but I drive a 2007 FJ, have no children/will not have children, eat mostly local plants & a bit of local fish/game, so if this is my guilty carbon footprint thing, well, I'll take all your judgment for it without sweat ;))

This one was the biggest disappointment for me, and perhaps no increase in peak brightness for the 15 Pro and Pro Max, though I don’t think that one was rumored.
I said this was one of the biggest disappointments for ME and someone disagreed. Thanks for your contribution.

I just wonder what’s worse, leaving a phone on a slow charger all night, or charging it once a day for 10 minutes on a fast charger?

So I guess our won't be buying one, huh? How much disappointment can a man stand?

I care less about W rating on charging and more about effective results. If at 27W the damn thing throttles (which mine does quite a bit, and I live in a relatively cool climate, and even go so far as to throw the phone on an ice pack when charging, esp when wireless charging, about the only way to get it to charge at max the whole charging curve), I really don't actually want the 35W charging (because that's just spec sheet fun), I want the thermals to improve to maximize the 27W output first along the whole charging curve without having to ensure it's on an ice pack or in a very, very cold room shielded from all possible sources of light/heat.

Hell, take my 27W away but give me 15W but with thermals that keep the throttling at bay.

Hopefully Ti's (on paper) heat dissipation advantage over SS gets us something here (although the internals remain Al....the frame/Ti join does seem to be non-fastener related and is friction welded it appears, which also in theory is good for thermal conductivity).
Just use a power brick not capable of fast charging.

Segmentation began with the iPhone 6/6+; beyond the larger, higher-res screen, the 6+ had landscape mode and its camera had OIS.

Yeah, why would anybody buy an iPhone when Android is so vastly superior? Oh wait, there's almost 1.5 billion iPhones out there now so somebody is buying them I guess.
