Selling new launch device with last years tech is kind already a price increase.
And how many of those new potential buyers will gladly take advantage of the 24 month 0% financing? Probably a large amount if they have the option. That only adds a little more than $4.16 to the monthly price. I finance my Pixel phones with Google and take advantage of their 24 month 0% financing.I love my iPhones but really? We are in the middle of a global recession, now is not the time to be increasing the costs of luxury goods, which lets face it iPhones fall into. Especially as you can bet that Apple will then announce monster profits shortly after.
Maybe that's the reason. Thanks😊👍I suspect Google because of their inferior sales to Apple may well have decided to subsidise the exchange rate on the dollar, because that's the real reason the iPhones have gone up in Europe, not inflation
They did here in The Netherlands though. The 14 Pros were about $200 more expensive than the 13 Pros.
I’m no expert but I would be it comes down to whether the company is willing to absorb the higher costs or pass them along to the customer. Maybe Apple thinks their customers will pay the higher prices. Hard to tell.I don't want to start anything, but I have a serious question.
Hopefully someone can explain this to me😊
In Sweden, (Europe🙂), Apple is the only tech company who had raised their prices.
If you compare with another US tech company, Google, they have not raised the price on the last year's model or the new model. Not on the phones, buds, watches, Chromebook or Chromecast.
( I know, you can't compare hardware with Google and Apple, it was just an example because they are both US company😉)
Is there anyone who can explain it to me why is it so?🙂
If it was for the inflation, wouldn't Google as well raise their prices?
And also everyone else?
Thanks for reading🙂
and then there's aesthetics and resale value 😊 The Pro's look much more premium, although I don't need all the pro features, it's the only one I would consider at the moment, my ideal would be a mini with a better battery in a pro casing 😊I guess I don't care what they do with the Pro phones beyond what it means for the lineup below it.
The Pro phones are just a full lineup of stuff I don't need or desire.
I don't need all the lenses, the power, I hate the size, I hate the weight
I really wish, at this point, we could get an iPhone Nano
I need to take a few pictures, scan some documents, listen to music/podcasts, take calls, use CarPlay, use iMessage a ton ... I need a souped up messaging/comms device with a few key Apps for shopping (costco, bank, etc)
I don't want, or need, an iPhone that's a gaming PC, AR base station or video workstation in my pocket
I don't want to start anything, but I have a serious question.
Hopefully someone can explain this to me😊

Having had a 13 mini and 13 Pro, I enjoy the Pro's aesthetics but it is made quite heavy by the stainless steel. Ended up going back to the 13 mini for full time use.and then there's aesthetics and resale value 😊 The Pro's look much more premium, although I don't need all the pro features, it's the only one I would consider at the moment, my ideal would be a mini with a better battery in a pro casing 😊
Well that's the cause of the increasing prices yes. And that wouldn't be a problem if people's income increased at the same rate but it doesn't. Ergo our buying power is reduced which is what makes decisions like this more difficult to complete.I wish people understood it's NOT prices going up, it's the currency getting weaker. It's the consequence of a debt based fiat currency. Until we collectively understand this, and demand sound money, nothing will change.

Thanks for answering, and for the tips about coffee shop😊I’m no expert but I would be it comes down to whether the company is willing to absorb the higher costs or pass them along to the customer. Maybe Apple thinks their customers will pay the higher prices. Hard to tell.
Best coffee shop anywhere….Sturekatten in Stockholm! 🥰☕️
Price increases in the Netherlands were largely due to the weaker Euro/stronger USD rather than inflation. There's been high inflation in the U.S. yet iPhone prices here stayed the same.
All currencies in the world today are debt based fiat. And most central banks around the world follow the lead of the US Federal Reserve. If you want to learn more watch End of Road, How Money Became Worthless on YT and also Mike Maloney's Hidden Secrets of Money.Which currency are you talking about?
Rumour? yep, a very real rumour of 1319 € for the Pro or 1469 € for the basic Pro Max, in Europe. Probably the US government's tax breaks for some companies due to inflation helped you to have the same price there.Didn't we hear the same rumor last year about the 14?
Exactly, credit in general drives prices up. If everything were cash, then people would have to ration, and prices would need to be more competitive. The thing is, the availability of this financing is needlessly driving up prices for everybody. It's not about whether you have to finance it to afford it, though there is another discussion that could be had about that.
The problem is that even those of us who can afford these prices are paying more because of a broken system that artificially inflates the cost of the devices whether you're financing or not. If Apple was forced to sell the iPhone for what the market can actually bear for a smartphone, the price would be lower for everybody.
As long as it was in a Pro body, I would get the Mini with that config, never use ultra wide camera or almost neverHaving had a 13 mini and 13 Pro, I enjoy the Pro's aesthetics but it is made quite heavy by the stainless steel. Ended up going back to the 13 mini for full time use.
I'd happily settle for a "14 mini" with ProMotion and the telephoto lens in place of the ultrawide, even if it had to be sold at Pro prices. The battery life is fine, in my experience. I just miss that optical zoom lens a lot.
