The exchange rate for both GBP&EUR against USD is almost back to what it was in spring of 2022, where is the adjustment now? I'm waiting.

Apple doesn't often adjust iPhone retail prices between launches, at least not in the U.S., so you may have to wait until the iPhone 15 launches before any potential currency exchange rate changes are made again.

If inflation comes down then there’s no justifying a price hike. But if inflation stays high Apple might raise price $50
More important is that we start seeing more iPhones that have new features, new hardware features and better performance not just a better camera
I see people walking around with iPhones that are 3 or 4 years old are they not upgrading because of price? Or because Apple had put more attention into AR/VR
Project Titan etc
Apple has thousands of patents which have never come to fruition for the iphone

Is it a rumor when we have ongoing record inflation? Everything is going up every year. Until inflation slows. That’s the new world. That’s not a rumor.

It's still only a rumor at this point. We've had high inflation in the U.S. for over a year yet iPhone 14 prices in the U.S. didn't increase over 13 models.

I'm sure the end goal is to have the phone at $2000 or above and have everyone buying an iPhone on subscription. Phone, Apple Care, Apple One, all for $3879912312 a month.

You will own nothing.
Ownership is very overrated. The moment you own something it's your problem when it screws up. If you rent it, it's someone else's!

F*ck, the 14pm got a real price increase in sweden (around 2k sek or 200$ because of exchange rates and stuff) and now apple wanna increase the price on their end?!? Sigh…

You can't blame inflation as there has been high inflation in the U.S. yet iPhone prices were not increased. Currency exchange rates are much more to blame in this case. The USD was about 17% or so stronger against the Euro at the time of iPhone 14 launch in September (versus year before) and this is largerly responsible for the higher prices in Euro countries.
Inflation IS the cause. If the US gets a price increase then using your logic it’ll have nothing to do with inflation, but a weaker dollar.
I hardly think practically every currency in the world (it wasn’t just the Euro where prices were increased) was weaker then the dollar, and the rampant inflation in all those countries had nothing to do with it.

Apple is more then capable of swallowing the costs regardless anyway considering its record profits year in year out, quarter in quarter out, the share holders on here must be happy.

iPhone experience has been the same since the iPhone X, barely upgraded, yet iPhones keep getting more and more expensive.

"iPhone 15 Pro Models Will be More Expensive."

Fixed the heading.

Apple needs to justify its relatively high priced iPhones esp. the Pro models, which will get the 'goodies' before the Non-Pro versions, to make it appear more exclusive for its need of the price increase.

Outside of Apple fan people, tech heads and those with money, Apple will need to worry how many consumers will switch away from iPhones to Android smartphones, which has decent features and cost much less. Already reading and hearing stories of past iPhone users who switched from iPhones to Android smartphones in many other online forum boards.

I'll probably hold onto my 13 Pro Max for one more year unless the 15 Pro Max is basically perfect in that case. If they are going to cost that much it makes sense to hold onto them for longer.

Just please Apple, charge whatever you want, but fix the auto-exposure and post-processing issues on the camera. It's my only real complaint since switching from Android. If you do that I will feel totally fine spending whatever you want to charge.

What a massive surprise, to no one.
Behold, the $5000 base model iPhone 15 Pro, coming in 2023.
Why not just make iPhone 15 Pro a halo product and push iPhone 15 Plus as the true affordable flagship?

The way this story is written is incredibly misleading. It should be stated, as it is a fact, that prices only in the US and China and a select few others have not been increased, because last year of course Apple DID increase prices in several regions across all new models.
But the article seems to paint a picture of standard iPhone 14 sales dropping, so Apple will raise prices of Pro models to increase sales. Sounds like a winning strategy to me if true, not.

Classic Tim Cook - counter falling sales by increase revenue per unit!

Certainly seems like it, but as long as he can continue to announce record profits he doesn’t really care, his strategy will be working. Fewer sales but more income, that’ll only last for so long of course though.

I think that's exactly where they're headed...but with the 15 being a meh release, it'll be a tough sell.

Though it's amazingly innovative, courageous even, to move to USB C (but probably at USB 2 speeds - they'll save 3.0 for the upgrade next year, 3.1 the year after that, and 3.2 the one after that)

EDIT: I'm dumb

Apple is already charging Europeans less than the US market.
  • Base iPhone costs $799 in the US, €999 in Europe.
  • VAT rate, at best is around 20%, often more.
  • $1 USD = €0.93 at current exchange rates
999 * 0.20 = 199.80
999 - 199.80 = 799.20
799.20 * 0.93 = 743.25

Europeans pay nearly $57 less for the base iPhone compared to US customers.
