I did before but I wasn't really using Apple One services so I ended up not getting it. Bottom line: The iCloud storage needs to be increased.

Why do we have to be tied to the Apple One premier service to take advantage of more TB? Plus, Apple upped the price too. 😞
Apple One is a no-brainer if you use Apple Music and watch AppleTV+. But if you use Spotify, ehh.. not so much.

The Weibo post didn’t say they were starting at 256GB, they said they HOPE they’re starting at that because of the price increase. Please get a Chinese translator.

Useless without increases to iCloud storage sizes.

Because?

I have about 38TB direct attached to my Mac but don't pay a nickel for iCloud. Local storage is one-time purchase and then free for life of use. iCloud is renting space on a hard drive in the sky controlled by strangers. It does not take much effort to get by just fine without iCloud... as we did for most of the time that Apple Inc has existed.

Added storage OPTIONS is quite useful for anyone who needs more onboard storage. In this device, shooting a lot of PRORES video will eat up a LOT of space very quickly. I presume most 2TB buyers will be buying for that purpose... then dump their footage to other storage as soon as they get back to their computer.

So to all the people saying you can get 4TB iCloud I suppose you are referring to this?

Apple+ 2TB as well as an Apple One 2TB plan:

A grand total of… wait for it!

£41.94 / mth just to get 4TB iCloud.

That is INSANE! Who on earth forks that out and thinks its a good deal?

And no, I do not think TV+, Music, Arcade, Fitness and News+ is worth it…

Please show me then because on the Apple website with both the iCloud+ page and the Apple One page which I took a screen grab of both they list the 2TB as the highest..
Exactly. I think these people are seriously sucking at the Kool-Aid straw.

Hopefully, entry storage capacity of the Pro models will go up to 256 GB, for the same price of the 128 GB models that is.
That would be nice, but if Apple did that, they'd be cutting deeply into their profits as they overprice the upgrade from 128GB to 256GB (probably the most popular configuration) and make much of their profit off of people making that natural upgrade. Of course, if they raise the price $100 of the base model, and make it 256GB, then everything is basically the same (for Apple) and they still make all that profit.

I agree with this, partially. The individual tier is nice though. Best bang for your buck.

Wait Tv+ is 6.99£ already?! I mean there is almost nothing to watch.

Just got free 5 months but can’t find anything easy to digest in there.

Okay I didn't realize these would stack, I figured the the iCloud+ plan (if you already had) of 2TB would transfer only, because as you said who in the world is really paying that much for 4TB of iCloud

Crazy amount of storage on a phone. I know others will disagree and probably send me borderline abusive messages for saying so. But my use case - and I suspect that of a lot of people - doesn't call for anything like that storage. I do sometimes need to pre-load a goodly amount of video and music when I travel, but even then not anything close to terabytes. And if you're keeping tons of sensitive data on your phone rather than backed up securely elsewhere, and that's why you need 2TB - then heaven help you. There will of course be cases (videography, photography etc) where a big storage is very useful, but surely a minority?

But - live and let live. If you really need/want 2TB then great if that's what Apple is planning to offer. I just hope that the bottom end options are still sensible and therefore affordable.

Don’t get why some on here are making a big deal out of 2TB iCloud storage being the max. Apple can easily sell you more in 2TB increments. Not a difficult implementation on their part.

I have taken photos and 4K videos, installed any app or game I want and so on for 1.5 years in a row without any cleaning. My 13 Pro with 128 GB still has 56 GB free. It is nonsense that they want me to pay €100-200 for the storage I don't need.

Also, small storage options were one the main reasons to use the iCloud subscription. With ample free space, I won't even need to use it.

With my 256 GB 14 PM, I am using 70.6 GB. I have over 700 GB of photos in Icloud. How is a 2 TB unit even necessary? For that price increase, I can get my 2 TB of icloud for 3 years...at which point, I will have already bought and sold a 15 PM, a 16 PM and a 17 PM.
Maybe because storing data in cloud only isn’t very safe and some people have more files than you?

Doesn't matter. I'm waiting for the iPhone 16 anyway. Not enough here for me to justify and upgrade.

/satire off

I say that EVERY year and EVERY year I get a new phone. I'm only using 42.2 GB of storage on my 14 PM right now, so storage doesn't seem to be an issue for me.

I mean, how MANY cat pictures can I put on my phone. Hint, I have over 100 right now.

So damn cute.
