Round the edges - whatever. I don't really care. But please god don't do a curved screen. I've had several premium Android phones with curved screens and absolutely hate it. Fees weird (especially for gesture navigation) and makes cases/screen protectors have too many compromises. The reason iPhones haven't changed much in the last few years is because the design is still solid. Focus on features and performance not arbitrary design changes just to be different.

Says ‘bad take’ then proceeds to post images of rounded wheels LMAO.

Buddy it doesn’t mean a circular wheel, it means that part where you are holding is ROUNDED. It feels better in a human hand because of anatomy. How you didn’t understand that is just scary.

I just see a highly opiniated person spouting off a litany of bad takes with undeserved conviction.

"Now go get yourself a square steering wheel, change your door knobs to squares..."

Bad and unintelligent designs strike everything buddy. That’s why an iPhone has square edges right now. Lmao.

There’s a reason 99.9% of door knobs are rounded: intelligent humans know how to design them.

Those ones you show here are the exact definition of unintelligent design. Good job hahahah

SO stand up straight. relax your arms at your sides. now serious question ... are you palms facing your sides or to the back like do or to the front? Mine face to my sides. IF you think this is abnormal - well I grew up as a sprinter so my palms face my sides and thumbs pretty much forward. Ain't no maneouvering going on (sincerely had me cracking up, almost fell out of my chair, thank you). I don't need to be playing pocket-hockey brew! lol

Example picture search: "action of pulling out an iphone out your front pocket"

Some dude pulling out his BACK pocket:

oh another one

Another from the front pocket:

and another:

another yet again:

reaching into my jeans pockets yes my palms face my legs but I don't USE my entire hand to pull out my phone. I'm not wearing 1980's rock-star skin tight jeans so thumb and index finger grip my phone and out it comes.

You need to understand NOT everyone does things you assume to be the same as you do. As I said earlier I've been using phones since the Ericsson T18z was release here in Canada - that's 1999, so my habit of pulling any phone out my pocket is VERY different than the a-typical modern day user. I've NEVER owned an iPhone Plus, Max nor Any Android phone larger than 5.8", nor a pocketPC or smartphone edition that large either.

Absolutely NO discomfort nor need for more muscular force doctor-X ! And I'm not even using my hand with my double-jointed thumb. Who knows ... maybe cause I've done Judo & gymnastics (rings) since I was 5 until 7yrs old, or Jui-jitsu for 3yrs in my later adult years ... but sorry I don't FIT into your small scope buddy.

Well when we write things with pencils, pens, markers, etc., we like to place our pinky finger down, on the surface to stabilize our writing or drawing.

You cannot do that when the device is too small for your hand to rest down on it.

Humans do not like to hover their hands as they write or draw. This is why it simply isn’t very viable for a smartphone.

Imagine you’re holding your smartphone in your hand and attempting to write or draw on it; it’s just not a good idea.
Agreed! Just sharing my own experience, and saying I would approve pencil support. I actually often use the pencil whilst ‘hovering’, e.i. without putting my hand on my iPad, or, like an extended finger. I guess I’m weird 😅

Lmao you see the picture where the thumb is actually touching the screen? That’s the positioning when you’re actually using the device and not taking a picture of it LOL.

See you completely change positioning when you’re actually using the device because that thumb you see there needs REACH. Hahah

God damn dude think more.

First this IS NOT my hands. These are pictures of a google search.
Second the last picture you've quoted fits YOUR assumption the others do not.

I think YOU is the one that needs to think more. WHEN I go to use the phone then my thumb or fingers will touch the screen. picking up from a table, out my pocket or back in my pocket I don't need to put my thumbs on the screen bub.

Yeah you have absolutely no clue what you’re talking about.

The iPhone 6 all the way through iPhone XS did not have curved screens buddy. It was curved edges.

Curved edges feel far more comfortable in the hand than sharp square edges. That’s an objective fact about humans. Sorry you literally can’t argue it.

Now go get yourself a square steering wheel, change your door knobs to squares, etc etc.

Enjoy
Semantics, nothing more I see. What next rounded edges or is that corners, we all know what is being discussed and no nobody is talking about Samsungs waterfall displays. We are talking about the bezel area being curved to the point where applying a screen protector becomes an issue. CeramicShield is not scratch/crack proof and Apple would gladly have one purchase AppleCare or do an expensive repair. Applying a screen protector on iPhone 6-11 series was horrible. iPhone 12 onwards it looked clean like a protector was not even on.

I for one prefer the 13/14 design. I don’t want to go back to an 11 type shape. On a plus side it may persuade me not to upgrade for once

Guys...read the article "ShrimpApplePro clarified that the next-generation "Pro" iPhone models will still have flat displays". The display is going to be flat, its just the edges that will be slightly curved.

Excellent! I’m ready for a design change on an iPhone. Still believe the iPhone XS was one of the best curvy designs yet. Hopefully, Apple gets inspired by it.

Well turns out that it didn't. It's still a flat bezel. Ugh, so boring! I like this pic you shared. I can only see that the iPhone SE having this type bezel. I have the iPhone 12 mini, and am hoping to see another iPhone with a curve bezel like in this pic. My moto Z series phones were like this, and I fell in love.
