I have an iPhone 13 with 128 GB of storage and I’m not even using half of it yet. Not sure why so much storage is needed. Do people just have hundreds of 8K videos and 48 MP RAW photos or something?
I have 393 of 512 used up on my 14PM. I like to have my photos on the phone vs. iCloud. No 8K videos, just years of memories. :)

So having the smaller pro at 1000$ isnt getting the upgraded camera.
why is it even considered the pro then?
might as well just call the max something new then if they are separating both pro devices now.

First of all the Max may not be a Pro at all this year, might be an Ultra. Secondly — it will still have a superior camera system when compared to the non-pro models. PRObably :D

256GB standard is more than enough for most people.
Apple will already have the number for this. They'd be looking at the number of 128GB iPhone Pro users vs. the average SSD capacity utilised.

Apple would never add an SD card as all other major OEMS have also removed that option.
I've not bothered about non-Apple for sometime now, didn't know the others removed SD slots.

Surprised.

I’ll take 128GB base for 8GB of RAM any day!
Are you ready for this? 🤨

Unfortunately still LPDDR5, according to TrendForce. What's their track record? Appletrack.com (which ranks Apple leakers) is coming up blank.

And if the new Phones are LPDDR5, does that mean the M3 Macs will be as well?

It is all relative. I have 32GB ipad and it is totally empty - i use 0 memory cause i stream. Then lets make 16gb ipads?

On my phone, the US map with hiking trails alone takes up to 10gb + my music gallery would be another 10gb + 10gb tv shows and some games. That is not talking about photo/videos. Also ssd memory drops in speed if used more than 50-75% - so if you have 128GB then you have real usable space of 64GB.

So the standard iPhone, pro and ultra.

so the pro is the middle model now and only normal sized pro just can’t get the good camera without the size difference. Seems like a bad move to me

Couldn't agree more, but then again it's Apple's naming convention nightmare... They put '3' in the name of the second model, for crying out loud — it was all consistently downhill from there. They did manage to level off, but now it can all go to s—t again with the addition of an 'Ultra'. Of course, it's not certain yet...

You’re telling me that the rumors of the phone going up in base storage to compensate for the increase in price were wrong all along and it was just a plain and simple price bump to increase Apple’s profit margins?

That’s pretty stingy… impressively stingy. I’m impressed. I’m not surprised, but I’m impressed.

So there's not a more advanced camera, or SoC, or USB-C port, with Thunderbolt speeds on the Pro Max version? Nothing else has changed that -might- increase production costs?

Gotcha. 🤔

I have iPhones since iPhone 3G. During this time I have made more then 37 thousands photos and several thousand of videos. I'd like to keep them all with me on my phone, because there is not sufficient internet connection everywhere to download them from my iCloud storage.

The ONLY model which will see a price increase if the rumours are true ist the pro max, 3 out of 4 stay constant. At least in the US of A. However, if true I don’t expect increases here in Europe with the exemption of the pro max too - we got several increases in the last years.

At the same time you see 48 MP main camera for the normal phones, titanium and 8 Gb at the pro and other improvements.

That all why we are looking at inflation rates of about 10% since 2021 at least. I would say that especially for the US consumer the iPhones got actually more affordable in real prices.
