Apple can you also offer a 5W USB charger for the upcoming iPhone 15, please? I like to charge my iPhone with a 🐌 slow 5W voltage charger. Overnight charging for the win!
What? You like slow charging but wireless charging is too slow 🤔 ...and you charge "overnight" 🙃 I charge my 14 Pro Max on a Nomad wireless charger overnight. The Ultra should be port-less

With the transition to USB-C, Apple is planning to replace the E75 Lightning Controller with an E85 Port Controller, according to Unknownz21.

Could the controller do Thunderbolt?

Seem like Apple would be into it since many of their other devices have Thunderbolt and they pretty much are the biggest champion of Thunderbolt.

Sorry for a little contradiction there. I prefer slow charging that doesn’t 🔥overheat my iPhone. Wireless charging is slow and overheats the back of the iPhone. I prefer charging overnight with a classic 5W Charger. 🔋 Optimized charging kicks in very nicely by mid-night. By the time I wake up, my iPhone is nicely charged and cold. It’s a pure satisfaction!

Maybe by the time Apple announces iPhone 15. The AirPower will be out. 🙏🏻

Love that little 5w charger

Im planning on getting a USB-A to USB-C cable and continue using that little brick overnight with my iPhone 15 Ultra.

Would love for Apple to release a 5W USB-C charging brick as well.

should just remove the port altogether. can't remember the last time i plugged in my iPhone 14 Pro.

It's still way too slow for my liking. MagSafe is fine if you're going to charge it overnight or not being busy. At times tho, I need a swift 10 mins charging before the next meeting, and MagSafe is often disappoints. So a reliable wired charging is still needed. Not it's even better with Lightning port being EOLed.

it would be dope to get official 45W charging speeds out of the next iPhone, just for those situations you described (although I would have real trouble draining the battery of my 1.5 year old 13 Pro Max in a day still)

How is the presence of the port that you don’t have to look at affecting your use of iPhone?
I am assuming iPhone Ultra, like Watch Ultra, would be rugged. This would mean better waterproofing and more resistance to the elements. A port would be a source for leakage.

You can put the Apple MagSafe battery pack on it. I have the battery pack. It also charges AirPods Pro 2.

This is great for USB C with other Apple devices I have. But the USB C port is a poor design that center chip could break and I have seen quite a few crimped USB C cables ends. Lighting came first. Apple's design is much better.

Wait! Is it possible to charge your USB-C iPhone using a 5W charger? How do you connect this to a 5W charger? What else am I missing here??

It does not take all night to charge the phone. In the morning it is cold.
