I really prefer the square design - so I’m a bit worried but it kind of looks like they are keeping the flat sides and adding back the curves on the bezels. Kind of morphing both designs together…

Sure, Apple is last to the market with a USB-C port on their smartphone. But I still hold out hope they'll be first to the market with a USB-C port that maintains their legacy of only supporting USB-2.0 speeds. It shows strength of character to stick to a reliable, steady speed like USB 2.0, even if it is slower than the port on the original iPod. It makes you question each 4K video you take, when you consider the transport speed to your Mac, and whether that video is really necessary. Some call it archaic; I call it courage.
Apple are moving from
Innovators when they only used usb ports on their iMacs to as***les now

Can't believe how many people are excited for a substandard port that is going to break a lot. Lightning may be slow for transfers but it is a robust connector, never had one fail. Had the USBCs replaced on my 2017 MBP, both sides and they got far less usage than my phone gets.

Whilst I agree the lightning port may be more resilient to breakage, Apple hasn't exactly improved its speeds over the years. But they are being forced to do this.

Thank you for your response and explanation.

Apple doesn’t sell USB-A to USB-C Cable correct?

Can this be done with Apple-certified charging cables from Apple.com? Or our only option is to go third party?
Just an adapter:

The company is also rumored to be transitioning to a titanium material instead of stainless steel…

What are the advantages of titanium over stainless steel?

Basically a lighter weight for the same strength, if you want a deep dive:

I can see the press conference.

"For the first time ever we introduced an USB-C port to the iPhone family. This new technology will enable now uniformity across the whole Apple lineup. We will use this revolutionary port for all Apple devices to come and improve upon it. We made strides to make sure that the Apple class transfer speeds are the same as our beloved Lightning ports, so you can share your data at the blazing fast speed. We made this decision, so whatever device you are having, you only need one cable. Thus we will make the consicious choice for our environment and are removing cable from the packaging. If you need a cable, you can use your own, or buy our new charger + cable combination."

Thank you, a good read! However, this bit is a bit concerning!

“In terms of cost, titanium is relatively more expensive than stainless steel.”

That’s probably what will trigger the price increase we were originally expecting for the 14 Pro/Pro Max based on the rumors we began to hear about like a year ago. Goodbye $999 price point.

I'm unironically expecting $999 for the regular 15 this time around.

Love that little 5w charger

Im planning on getting a USB-A to USB-C cable and continue using that little brick overnight with my iPhone 15 Ultra.

Would love for Apple to release a 5W USB-C charging brick as well.
Yes, let’s give more money to Cook instead of buying ANY 5$ usb-c charger. Ah yes it can let implode your iphone and everything around it 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻
