I’ll just use my MagSafe or iPad Pro cable and 20w power adapters. What I really need is a A to C for my car stereo. I’m going to look for one right now because I’m not the only one that will be buying them for these new phones better now than closer to release.

I hope they make them more durable. I have had 100% failure with Apple charger cables.

I’ve never had one fail even since the original iPhone 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I don't know what people do to their cables to have them fail. Like @Rychiar, I've never had a cable fail on me. Maybe that's because they plug in tight so when I unplug them I grab them by the hard plastic piece and remove them that way, while others may just pull from the rubbery part of the cable? I have no idea why anyone would do that, but that's the only thing I can think of to explain why some people have such high failure rates while many of us never experience failure or frayed cables.

I'm interested in how your cables are failing. The only problem I've had with Apple cables is at the point where the cable and the connector meet. I have found that if I'm careful in how I roll it up they last for years.

Can we have a Braided USB to USB-C, please? I only prefer to charge my iPhone with a 5W Apple adapter. Slow Charging! I need this cable with USB-C.

I got it from Anker, they come in bundles even so you can have one at home and another in the office.

I don't necessarily prefer the 5W charger, but I have many and see no reason to not use them.

There continues to be change in the air at Apple. Thank goodness!

For everyone claiming that USB-C is saving Apple, just remember that it was Apple's own contributions that made USB-C what it is today. The Lightning cable reminded the world that a reversible connection was the way to go.

I haven't charged my phone with a cable for 4 years. Qi (wireless) is the only way I do it now. I know it's not as efficient, but I've had so much trouble with the Lightning port across three iPhones ... no idea why! ... that now I have wireless chargers everywhere... bedroom, office, work, vehicles.

This actually makes a lot of sense if Apple is close to converting all devices to USB-C. That way, this cord could also function for charging your Mac or other Apple devices.

We have replaced SEVERAL cables that have split or the USB-A portion pulled away from the cord. Pretty typical in our house with kids that aren't always the gentlest. The magsafe charger cords are holding up much better because they can grab a bigger area to "unplug".

We have USB ports built into our sofa and we use them for charging daily. A little longer cord would be quite handy and allow the center seat to still charge a phone.

You've never had the fray issue (followed by failure)? I've never known anyone who *hasn't* had that issue... anyone. But then again if you only use it once a week, while wearing surgical gloves and handle them with tweezers and never bending or applying more than 0.01nm of force.
