Ordered. Quickest experience of my life for once!
Yeah, that was remarkably easy.

Launched the store app on my iPad, got the "Please stay on this page until we can bring you in for pre-order" screen. While that was waiting, launched the store app on my iPhone, and it asked me if I wanted to process my preorder - yes please. Double-checked the order specifics at 5:01am, was at the "Thank you" page at 5:03am, and got the emailed receipt a few seconds later (arrives on the 20th). Could have been faster, but I was taking my time and reading carefully.

I didn't wait on the waiting page. I closed and refreshed. At about 8:04 Eastern I got in, was pre-set with AUP earlier

Email confirmation for the phone 5:01am

That's awful!
It looks like the page finally went live after 17 minutes. I feel bad for anyone who wanted to order soon and tried to use the page.

But then again it's been pretty common knowledge the App is a much quicker way to make your order for a few years now.

Do you think if you swipe-quit the app and go back in you get bumped down in some sort of a queue? There's no doubt digital queue management going on in the background after all... ;)
Yes. If you pre ordered before today and saved options it saved the phone you ordered. Then today all you did was click order.

Just ordered mine, 512GB pro Max Titanium Gold arrive next Friday 🤩

Welp. Not buying today then.

You buy the T-mobile variant. It was that way last year. You can use the Apple Card, get the perks, and the phone is unlocked. It is the only one that doesn't require you to enter carrier info. I am prepaid with Verizon and did this last year.

Also weird - Order confirmation email lists the local Apple Store address as my billing address?

Used the browser on my iPad since the Apple Store app on my iPhone seemed like it was staying there forever. Got a Natural Titanium 256GB Pro Max being delivered on 9/20!

Ordered two. (1) 16 ProMax 1TB in Black, (1) 16 ProMax 512GB in Desert Brown (or whatever it's called). For the black phone, I was given the option of express shipping, so it will be here 9/17, while the desert brown one will arrive 9/20 (no express shipping option). I hope they're worth it...

Whoa. Order complete. Desert Titanium iPhone 16 Pro Max 512GB. The landing page said wait and I'm like oh hell no refreshed it and was pre-order ready. Yea, Woot !!!!

Finally got let in to order at 7 minutes past the hour. Paid with ApplePay but for some reason it went through as a guest order. It won’t let me add the order number to my Apple ID because it says it’s associated with another apple account (same email address, though?) Got the payment confirmation page an an order number, but I haven’t received a confirmation email yet and it hasn’t been charged to my credit card yet. Hmm. I guess I will have to wait and see?

Sure enough. Opened the Apple Store app at 0700 and it let me in to order at 0708. Pro Max 1tb in black. Arrives 10/2 - 10/7.
same as well. 7:06am CT. same model for ATT got Oct 2 - 7. Crossing fingers delivery date moves up. last year same exact thing happened with same delivery range and 3 or 4 days after pre-order, the delivery updated to launch day.

It is better to order from direct Apple if your using a carrier. Or go directly to the carrier's site?

Apple is now accepting orders for the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max through its online storefront and through the Apple Store app. The Apple Store app is often the quickest way to get a pre-order in as typically comes online ahead of the website.

Pre-orders are being accepted in more than 58 countries and regions around the world, and if you used Apple's "Get Ready" feature ahead of time, you should be able to get your order in with a few taps.

Pricing on the iPhone 16 starts at $799 in the United States, while pricing on the iPhone 16 Plus starts at $899. The iPhone 16 Pro is priced starting at $999, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts at $1,199. Note that the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16 Pro start with 128GB of storage, but the Pro Max starts at 256GB.

iPhone 16 prices vary by country, and go up with increased storage space. The 16 and 16 Plus support up to 512GB, while the 16 Pro and Pro Max support up to 1TB storage space. Apple is encouraging customers to use trade-in credits to lower the iPhone's price, and it is promoting carrier deals from AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile in the U.S.

All four iPhone 16 models feature the new Camera Control button for taking photos and video, and have chips capable of supporting the Apple Intelligence features coming in a future iOS 18 update. Other features include the Action Button, faster 5G, faster MagSafe and USB-C charging, Wi-Fi 7, longer battery life, and new color options.

The iPhone 16 Pro models have been updated with larger displays with slimmer bezels while iPhone 16 display size hasn't changed. The iPhone 16 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch display. Other "Pro" features include a more advanced A18 chip, support for ProMotion and Always-On display technology, along with a 48-megapixel Ultra Wide lens and a 5x Telephoto lens, which is now available across both models.

We haven't heard rumors of production shortages, so it is not clear what supplies will look like. It is a good idea to pre-order right away just in case some models sell out, especially in the new Desert Titanium iPhone 16 Pro color.

In addition to Apple, U.S. carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile are accepting pre-orders starting now, as are carriers worldwide. Big box retailers like Best Buy, Target, and Walmart are also selling the new iPhone models.

Customers who pre-order an iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro can expect to begin receiving their new devices on Friday, September 20, which is the official iPhone 16 launch date.

That was fast and easy. Got in in less than 3 minutes

I remember the many times when customers would lineup outside the Apple Store for their new iPhone. Now it’s just a click of a button when you do a pre-purchase. This is so awesome!
