Was looking at a 5d Mk IV to supplement my 5d. I started doing digital with Canon with a D30 a lifetime ago, it is still around somewhere…. That 70-200 L version 2 lens is oh so choice, that and an 85mm 1.2 were favorites.5d MKII here with a 70-200 L IS f2.8, a 24-70 L 2.8 and a 100mm Macro.
You mean like this? 😆You'd think they'd make that clear - like in the title of this thread or something.
Leather doesn't work well with the camera button. One thing I noticed is there’s no mention of fine woven cases. I’m OK with this, but I do miss seeing some kind of premium case. I really do miss the leather.
Business as usual, not sure why people expect to see massive upgrades each year. Iterative changes are the norm, big changes between generations are the exception, not the rule.Definitely an S upgrade year.
Personally I am looking forward to 2027-2028 after this year's iPhone. I think Apple will come up with something for the twentieth anniversary. Most likely iPhone 17 Pro might come with 8K and a 48 megapixels telephoto zoom lens but I am not really planning on buying a 8K TV in the next 5-6 years.Upgrading x4 phones (two 12 Pro, 13 PM and 13 Mini) to iPhone 16 Pro, it’s a good upgrade. For the people waiting on iPhone 17 Pro with 12GB RAM that’s great for them if their plan on using Apple Intelligence heavily. Was hoping for 256GB base storage and 48MP Tele but the rest is good as my next upgrade will be iPhone 20 Pro or whatever suits my needs.
This upgrade is not meant for iPhone 15 Pro people and 14 Pro can probably sit it out for another year.
That’s a safe likelihood that the 20th anniversary will have some major features, who knows it might be a rolling or folding phone. Removing or hiding FaceID is great but not 20th Anniversary noteworthy.Personally I am looking forward to 2027-2028 after this year's iPhone. Same. I keep going back and forth too. I’ve always been firmly in the “Pro camp,” but after a year with the Max.. the extra battery is nice to have. Also the new 16PM is imperceptive larger than the 15PM, so if I’m use to the 15PM… maybe I’ll just stick with the 16PM and be thankful for the extra battery? Tough call.Coming from the iphone 15 pro max, I can't decide if I wanna downsize this year and go for the 16 pro, or if I wanna go with the bigger 16 pro max..
I know what you mean. My "get ready order" is for the 16 PM so even though it's bigger, I think I'm gonna stick with the pro max this year.Same. I keep going back and forth too. Yes, I think that too. I am on a 3-4 year upgrade cycle anyway and some rumors say WiFi 8 is planned sometime in 2028 and I bet a new version of Bluetooth 6.0, maybe 6.1 will come out by then. Secondly I fear that in case I don't upgrade this year to the iPhone 16 Pro from the 13 Pro that I have that Apple will once again have some exclusive features for the iPhone 17 Pro Max which will really disappoint me as I can't use a Pro Max iPhone because of its size. That’s a safe likelihood that the 20th anniversary will have some major features, who knows it might be a rolling or folding phone. My point is the reason there is parity this year is because the Pro is just catching up to last years Pro Max.The Max is basically just bigger. Personally I think that's how it should be. Why should I have to decide between features vs having the size I prefer.
oh come on. is the phone really replacing this rig? I just took the s5ii + 28-200mm to europe for 3 weeks and I got many cool portrait shots with rapid shooting. Phones are too slow and awkward to shoot fast and have fast accurate control. I also have other fast primes and I enjoy them.5d MKII here with a 70-200 L IS f2.8, a 24-70 L 2.8 and a 100mm Macro. And, I don't take very many pictures with that anymore.
You know what that feels like? Apple employees lurking and spreading disinfooh come on. is the phone really replacing this rig? Oh I know. But if we follow previous years it’d still be in the style of new then S.Business as usual, not sure why people expect to see massive upgrades each year. Iterative changes are the norm, big changes between generations are the exception, not the rule.
Man, I'd sure hope that over $6000 worth of DSLR gear had the potential to produce better images than an iPhone.5d MKII here with a 70-200 L IS f2.8, a 24-70 L 2.8 and a 100mm Macro. And, I don't take very many pictures with that anymore.
After trying out several 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models, the main camera didn't appeal to me because I need detailed 48 MP ProRAW photos and not the impressive 24 MP images. After an extensive comparison of the 48 MP ProRAW images from both devices resulting in disappointment, I went back to the 14 Pro. My subjects in museums are only 50 cm away and I need 48 MP images with maximum detail that I can zoom into. I liked the natural titanium the action button and USB-C, but after all I need the best possible images so that I don't always have to carry my full-frame mirrorless with me. So I'll stick with the 14 Pro until the IMX903 or another with a higher sensitivity sensor comes along. When shooting indoors with the 14 Pro and using a polarizing filter, I often have a shortage of light.
Only if somebody needs the 5x tele lens in the smaller 16 Pro. The IMX903 would also have required a new lens design. Where are the better lenses, where are the glass elements? It's all about saving costs and maximizing profits. The proMax has de-facto not received 1 relevant hardware improvement in the sensor area.
