Oh it does, but it’s great to have a really good camera package on what is in your pocket all the time. And people, remember to clean those little lenses off occasionally…Man, I'd sure hope that over $6000 worth of DSLR gear had the potential to produce better images than an iPhone.
Agreed - battery might be interesting this year for heavier users of Apple IntelligenceThe battery measurements are annoying. Playback of audio and video are essentially zero-compute tasks at this point, it's hardly surprising the life is *super* long with them.
Apple is charging the same prices as last year for fewer features. For example, the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max were priced at $999 and $1199, respectively, but had more differences between them. Now, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are priced the same, but offer fewer distinguishing features — unless I’m reading this wrong 🤷♂️
Did you mean "in the US"?,..in Australia its 100 cheaper.Apple is charging the same prices as last year for fewer features. Literally just had this discussion with my spouse - the "Max" is finally feeling too big. With mostly feature parity, not feeling like I'm missing out.Well you can kind of use a combination of your personal experience over the past year and what Apple claims the battery life is on the 15PM vs. 16P. Apple claims the 15PM lasts 29h for video playback and they claim 27h for the 16P. That’s a “two hour difference.” You can, sort of, subjectively say that as long you have ”about 2 hours“ of life left on your 15PM at the end of the day (or before you can reasonably charge), then you should be “fine” with the 16P battery.
I’m in your same situation. I plan on finally going back to a “smaller” phone now that both the 16P and 16PM are objectively the same phone (aside from battery and screen size). The battery should be fine in my case.
I am really happy that both models have the same features. The main reason I didn't buy the iPhone 15 Pro last year was the lack of 5x telephoto lens on the Pro model. My father has the 15 Pro Max and oh my god it's too big for me!!!!
I’m very happy that that’s the case on this year’s iPhones and I hope that Apple continues to take this approach on future iterations of pro model iPhones
The Max is basically just bigger. Personally I think that's how it should be. Why should I have to decide between features vs having the size I prefer.
As it should. Drives me up the wall when Apple further segments the segmentation.
I need to know there isn’t a phone out there that has more features than mine. Even if that phone is bigger so it has the battery, thermals, and physical space to make the new features more feasible, I’d rather Apple withhold the new features from it and just fill it ONLY with battery so I feel better about not having it.Really glad about this. That rumor was bumming me out because I always want the best camera but the Maxes are freakin' canoe oars and I prefer the standard size.
The bold statement isn’t correct, so you’re either using wrong logic or you’re meaning something different. They’re both gaining positive value (new features at same price), but the smaller Pro is gaining more value (new features) than the Max. That doesn’t make the Max have a negative value change. I really don’t know what meaningful conclusion one can make from this comparison. I guess if you really want both phones to gain value at the same rate, then you’re out of luck, but that just seems like a weird thing to get hung up on.Apple is charging the same prices as last year for fewer features. That's a weird take, fewer differences between two model tiers doesn't equate to fewer features for the same $$$. They have added features to the iphone 16 line and didn't increase price despite rising costs and adding features. So, you are getting more features for the same money and when factoring inflation, you are actually getting more features for less money.Apple is charging the same prices as last year for fewer features. iPhone 16 is also up to 2 grams heavier.Well you can kind of use a combination of your personal experience over the past year and what Apple claims the battery life is on the 15PM vs. 16P. exactly. They are the same. That's the point they are making in this article. And good thing too. I hated having to give up features just because I wanted a smaller, more manageable size.If i remember correctly, the iPhone 12 Pro Max had a slighly larger camera sensor than the Pro. That's not the case now regarding the 16 Pro vs Pro Max?
