It's literally been dropped by Samsung on all their products and everyone else that had used it.

Failure.
Lol, that doesn't make it a "failure". It had more to do with smoother use with the S-pen and manufacturing ease than anything else - as a display it was still excellent and far from a failure.

I hope super thin bezels doesn’t take away from durability of the display. My iPhone 13 Pro Max has thick bezels. And yes I’d like a bit slimmer. But this phone is also a tank. I’ve dropped it way too many times and it is still good as new.

Also at some point very thin bezels + a case with any kind of lip make side swipe gestures very difficult.

I’ll reserve judgement until I actually see the phone (assuming these rumors are even true). But I’m a little worried.

I literally could not care any less about this, in fact I despise it a bit as it’s so easy to accidentally touch the screen when picking a phone up and pressing the pause button etc. because of the screen being so huge you have to be careful how you pick the iPhone up these days.
"You're nor picking it up right!"

We've officially come full circle, people now want bigger bezels.

Very nice, but I can't help but feel it's wasted when looking at that atrocious island, still can't understand why they didn't just keep it as a notch and incorporate it into the taskbar.

Unpopular opinion: I care about bezel size reduction. Makes the phone look sleeker.

Everyone here saying they don’t care should compare the iPhone X’s bezels to the 15 Pro’s.

Yeah, I still remember how they marketed the iPhone X as having an edge-to-edge display.

I see the same "I don't care" blowhards are out in full force. These are the same people that "didn't care" when older iPhones had massive chins and the screens were ridiculously small. A bezel-less iPhone should have launched years ago....

Yet 90% of users put a case on it. The more I am thinking about it, the more I feel it's a design flaw. Yes, they are beautiful, but almost all of them are hidden behind an ugly case. It's like design somehow won over usability completely, and it is a bit strange since the desing is almost always hidden. So what's the benefit of the beauty?

What would be amazing would be a good looking iPhone that didn't need a case.
What do cases have to do with Bezels? I use a case, and I can still see massive bezels. Smaller bezels means a true edge-to-edge screen experience and sleeker look (even with a case). Yes, people care about this. I don't get how this is so hard for people to understand, especially Apple diehards who have always cared about good industrial design.

Because a case still has to "grab" your phone and hold on to the edges. At some point, your case will cover your screen instead of bezel.

I don't see how this makes the device better in any meaningful way. It it "cool"? I guess.

But it reminds me of Jonathan Ive's obsession wiht making every device 0.5mm thinner all the while removing useful features and better battery life.

Nobody is going to choose the phone because the bezel is 0.1mm smaller than the competition.

There's no need to make a post like this

Wow. I was caught up with this stuff for a few years. Now I look at it and I can't believe how inane and ridiculous these kinds of stories are. "Set a record"?? Seriously who gives an actual f*#k? And if you do, why? Reporting breathlessly on every future Apple iteration is the lamest cottage industry going. Move on. More important stuff in the world.
