Some people online who have an older Pro model have voiced interest in the 16 or 16 Plus. That tells me that Apple’s conservative approach to colors with the Pro may be starting to bite them in the Apple. If they had offered the same colors for the 16 Pro/16 Pro Max as the 16/16 Plus, demand would be higher.
Yes, better colors would've helped differentiate the 16 Pros from the 15 Pros, and maybe increase demand. Pros deserve the bright and fun colors too.

They need to stop with the mindset that pros should only have the boring and "serious" colors.

I really wanted usb-c, so upgrading to the 15 was worthwhile for me. If they shrink the notch to a hole, I’ll consider upgrading to the 17, but nothing compelling me to get the 16.
There hasn’t been a notch since the 14. I’ve gotta ask how, how do you feel a hole is better than the current pill shape cutout?

its basically a camera now, all they do every year improve the camera, I dont want a iphone with a shutter button lmao

To me the extra couple of hours battery life, and the button is worth it

How long will you even have those couple extra hours before it gets eaten by battery degradation? With €400 saved, you could add a couple of battery replacements, and a MagSafe power bank, and still come out ahead.

But if you’re happy with your decision, that’s fine. Even though I can afford the 16, for me, a 15 Pro for that much less money is too good a deal to refuse.

There are people who currently have a 12 Pro, 13 Pro and even a few with a deep purple 14 Pro who are thinking about getting a 16 in ultramarine, pink or teal. That says it all.
You just described me, but with a new case and glass protector, my 12 Pro is feeling like brand new. Might wait for the 17.

Niño…what?. We are no Huawei!, we will release new colors every year and put the “fastest CPU in a phone slogan (except this year, because it is not). Anyway, gullible teens will buy it to be hip. Let’s do this forever as Uncle Sam has us protected from dreadful innovating companies!.

Well in my region they were all sold out on Friday for release day within 15 minutes. Not enough demand, or not enough product?

The camera button is one of the reason I upgrade haha.
That and the upgraded camera sensors.

I hope the button will work nicely and camera system is upgraded enough, otherwise I might return it and keep the 13 pro a few years more.

No one could see that coming!.
Apple intelligence is soooooo uninteresting, really poor choice from Tim to go in that direction. Making phones slower and consume more battery to have messages and notes written in a different tone?. So, useless. Even the photos editor is so mediocre. iPhone will do everything AI related miserably and Apple will then get a bad rep and Huawei will succeed finally. Just not in USA, where people will continue to buy the same device year after year.

Or simply put, the US Govt’s schizophrenic trade policy against China and its various tech entities has soured Apple’s reputation in the world’s largest smartphone market. So suck it up and leave it at that.
China isn't the only country with loyal citizens, americans also prefer American car brands vs other brands

Apple should have a special iPhone colour for iphones manufacturered in USA.

Followed ya till Huawei. LOL

I will upgrade immediately when they put physical SIM card back to US version.
Used to update yearly and give old models to my parents where e sim is not supported.
Now no one to give and i will keep my iPhone 14 Pro Max for another year

As a 15 Pro Max user I have absolutely zero interest in this minor upgrade. Up until now, I changed phones every 2 and then every 3 years and I think it will soon be 4 years before my next phone.

In recent years I fell mostly for the camera upgrades.
But then at some point you realise that serious phone photography just isn't a thing, it's all software/AI shenanigans. The 5x zoom on the iphone is terrible and I won't fall for it again.

I brought a pro cam instead

It’s a solid tock release. Some of the major updates like better microphones and thermals aren’t sexy and won’t move units, but will pay dividends down the line.

FWIW I’m watching close to see why Apple included the capture button on the base models. Not doing that would increase margins for those phones and probably increase ASP’s as many would go to the pro for that feature. I think there’s a longer game here. It does nudge users to take more landscape photos and videos, but I’m not sure what Apple’s payoff would be with that 🤔

Kuo said a major reason for the iPhone 16 Pro models having lower-than-expected demand is that Apple Intelligence will not be available on the devices when they launch on Friday.
Or maybe it's because Apple Intelligence is the only standout feature and not very appealing to many people?

The fact that Apple touted the Series 10 Apple Watch's "all-new" design, even though said design reads as virtually indistinguishable from the previous design, makes me wonder if they're stuck in a bit of a groupthink rut.
Groupthink? At Apple? Noooo...

The fact the two iPhone stores near me have the iPhone 15 Pro in all colors and all sizes for either launch day delivery or the day after this late after the start of preorders says the analyst is right on this one.

On busy iPhone cycles you see delivery dates quickly dry up and everyone is either watching the Apple Store site hoping to see a new delivery window open up or begging for a phone if they show up on launch day as otherwise the dates are a month out.

The release is extremely light so it makes sense…

AI might give the iPhone a boost, but the features haven’t yet arrived and won’t fully until we’re thinking about the iPhone 17. In addition to that Apple had let Siri basically rot for a long time so people are in a “show me” mode before they trust Apple marketing hype on its usefulness and features.
