After seeing them in person at the Apple store, I agree that the Brushed Natural Titanium is much better than the polished one on the new phones. However the Desert looked really nice!

And those bezels are so small! The screen feel noticeably larger than my 15 pro Max!

My screen is yellow, never had this issue so disappointing .
I HATE this issue across the years. I wish Apple would demand stricter calibration and ensure a more consistent tone across all phones. I noticed the three I was looking at in the store all had slightly different tones. The screen lottery again…

I went from a purple IPhone 14 promax to a desert titanium iPhone 16 Pro Max. I did love that purple and I was sad to lose it. But I have to say that it is nice and refreshing having a softly feminine phone again. It’s ever so slightly pink and just looks soft. I really like it in the matching Torres frosted back kickstand case. Perfect combo.

16 PM feels noticeably thicker than my 14 PM

Also I’m glad I went with natural titanium in the end. Looks great.

I come from the 15 Pro Max.

Been playing all day with the regular 16 in Ultramarine and the 16 Pro Max in Desert Titanium to see which one I keep.

So far I prefer the regular 16. So pretty, so light, so comfortable.

Bigger screen is barely noticeable. Smaller bezels are not as dramatic as they look in the pictures but certainly nice to have.

Best feature so far is the Action Button; assigning it to control the lights in my bedroom is so good.

Will test the cameras tomorrow but not expecting any dramatic changes. Telephoto is just as poor as it was on the 15PM based on the samples I've seen.

No curiosity in 16 plus?

The camera button is a bit wonky. I don’t like it for adjusting settings. But to snap a quick picture of the kids before they quit doing the cute thing and move back into tiny terrorists, it’s lightning fast.
Thank you for the parent test. This is exactly what I needed to hear. I don’t care bout adjusting zoom/other settings but getting that quick cute pic of the kid before she moves on to something else is the important thing.

Only had it a short while. Does seem like more of a finger magnet than let years brushed ti. So far I'm thinking is goes better with my S7 Titanium and my Ultra 2, but..... the jury is still out on that. need to see it in different conditions.

I just compared my 16PM to my friends 16PM very close in color temp and uniformity. Comparing it to my 14PM then it is ever so slightly warmer but with less red push which I don’t like. Meaning I’d rather have a slight warm yellowish look than a pink tint which my 14PM has. I’m being very critical on both devices just to get my point across. Since both devices are good to my standards and I’m fussy.

Tbh coming from 14 pro max. I don’t even know how to feel because the new camera button feels weird and awkward to use. I am left handed though. Overall, feels like the same phone. The little bit bigger screen, usb c, better mic and better battery seems like nice to have. The new 16 pm does feel lighter with the aluminum that is something i kind of enjoyed.

However i think i would be happy to continue with my 14 PM.. the new phone feels like a more refined version.

The x factor would probably be Apple intelligence. If both phones have it then i wouldn’t upgrade…

Hmmmm....thanks for letting me know your experience. I'm a leftie as well. Good to know it would be awkward for me. Hahaha.

Modern iPhones have not needed fugly cases for years now. iPhones are really, really tough now.
Do you use a screen protector?
I can't remember the last iPhone I cracked, they definitely are sturdier. But I regret taking the case off mine as the screen now has so many scratches from no bumper

Anyone else finding their device to have a significantly lower build quality than previous models? Got the 16 Pro Max in black, and it came already with a minor scratch of the back glass. Also the lower left corner has a noticeable gap between the glass and frame where some gunk already seems to have accumulated? I find the whitish glue around the frame holding the back glass also way more noticeable (might be especially bad on the black models though).

My old 15 Pro Max just seems to have tighter tolerances and details all around.

If there’s a gap in in the rear glass/frame i would return it asap, that is unacceptable and it’s how my 15 pro max failed on me. In my case they wouldn’t replace the phone because they said the debris that got inside the phone was “my fault”.

Coming from a 13 pro max, it is a good update, but not a necessary one. I like the dynamic island more than I thought. It is not that intrusive and it is very useful. Its only sad that it don't work when on landscape mode. I also really like the action button, again, very useful to turn on Do not disturb quickly when I need. I also find the screen noticeably tailer, but not larger. I especially notice it when compared my wallpapers with my 13 PM side to side, but in apps themselves, there's not really a perceptible difference. The phone feels a little more responsive and quicker. The 2 extra GB of RAM seems to help when many apps are open including Safari tabs.

The phone seems to get warmer more easily though. I'll give it some days and it is probably because it does a lot of things in the background with my restored back up, but I lose around 30% of battery life relatively quickly. I hope its better than my 13 PM in that regard.

The camera button is awkward and not necessary at all. It's not intuitive, have to search for it and it kinda hard to press. It will not be useful to me at all. I like always on display, but I fear it affect battery life in the long run. I don't understand the setting to remove the wallpaper because when I do that, even the clock disappear when the phone is in standby.

The phone itself feel great in the hands. A little but noticeably lighter, but not by much. More comfortable in the hands compared to my 13 PM. Overall, for 13 PM user it is a nice upgrade for the things they add on the 14 and 15 series, but it's not a necessary one if you can wait. If I had a 14 or 15 PM I wouldn't consider an upgrade at all.

Ordered Desert first, then cancelled and ordered White. In-Store pickup today, but I keep neurotically going back and forth on which one I want. I see one good photo of the white - ooh I want the white! Another good photo of the desert - ooohh I actually want the desert! And vice versa.... Hard decision. I'll see them in person in a few hours and hopefully that'll make it easier to make a final call.
I saw them in person yesterday and still do not know. I think I will go desert
