I'm still on an X. I'm upgrading to the 15 Pro/Max I'm on FirstNet and have unlimited hotspot. It's time to take advantage of 5G after being on LTE for so long, battery doesn't last if I use the phone for a bit so it's time to upgrade and I guess I'll upgrade again for the XX model LOL

So I hope all you I'm not upgrading people stick to that so my phone doesn't get pushed out arriving until mid October😁

Wait until you hear about the 17 Pro… That phone is going to blow your socks off… 💫. Of course, the 17 is nothing in comparison to the 18. And then there the iPhone 20 Pro.. OMG! 😱
A folding iPhone may blow some people’s socks off, at least those who seem to be living under a rock and don’t seem to know that Samsung and Google have had them for years. I get what you’re saying, but you have to admit that when it comes to iPhones, some years are better than others.

The 15 line is clearly a “S” year. Nice upgrades but not nearly as compelling as the 16 line in 2024 will be. Still gonna upgrade this year though.
Me too, because I'm on a 12 Pro Max. It actually still works fine, but I skipped last year because it just wasn't compelling enough, but now that it is 3 generations back, there are enough improvements, some little and some big, that I'm pretty excited about.

I'm always surprised when people complain that there isn't enough of an improvement year-over-year to warrant upgrading... While I'm sure Apple would be happy for everyone to upgrade every year, I don't think that is a reasonable expectation for any kind of significant number of people.

So, yeah, coming from a 14, maybe the 15 is kind of... meh.

But coming from a 13, and it's become... hmm.

And coming from a 12 or older, and it is certainly approaching... Oh!

In my next life I know what I'm going to be…

**Headline: Speculation Abounds Over iPhone 16 Pro Max's Potential Innovative Features, Including Alien Recognition Device**

*In the world of tech rumors, the spotlight is now on Apple's upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max, with speculations running wild about the groundbreaking features it might bring to the table.*

*Rumors suggest that Apple is aiming to revolutionize biometric security with an Alien Recognition Device (ARD). This device, supposedly built with extraterrestrial contact in mind, is said to employ advanced spectroscopic technology to identify and authenticate unknown life forms. While some tech experts remain skeptical about the feasibility of such a feature, the very idea has ignited the imaginations of science fiction fans worldwide.*

*But that's not the only buzzworthy element - sources whisper about the possibility of an **"InfiniteScroll"** display. This display is said to wrap around the edges of the phone, offering users an infinite virtual workspace for multitasking and content consumption. This rumored feature, if true, could forever change the way we interact with our devices.*

*Another tantalizing tidbit revolves around a potential **"QuantumScribe"** technology. This revolutionary input method would allow users to transcribe their thoughts and ideas directly onto the screen by harnessing quantum entanglement principles. This could streamline productivity and communication in ways previously thought unimaginable.*

*Furthermore, speculation is rife about an **"Omnisensory Camera System"** that purportedly goes beyond capturing images and videos. This system is rumored to capture and reproduce the sensory experiences associated with a moment, allowing users to relive their memories in unprecedented detail, complete with sight, sound, smell, and touch.*

*Amidst all the excitement, experts remind us to take these rumors with a grain of skepticism. Apple has been known to keep its innovations tightly under wraps until the official reveal. Regardless of what features the iPhone 16 Pro Max does or doesn't possess, it's clear that the tech world is buzzing with anticipation, eager to see what Apple has up its sleeve.*

Why there are news about iPhone 16 ... 15 is not even announced. lol At this point, I no longer care until my iPhone dies. It is almost becoming norm of news and boring now. Nothing excites me. The only feature that I care is SOS or satellite cell services.

Yep been upgrading since way back on AUP but finally this year on a 14 ProMax 15 seems (so far til we see the real thing) a meh upgrade, but yeah 12 or so time to upgrade

Will faster WiFi speeds enable me to watch TV shows and cat videos faster just like when modems went from 300 to 1200 baud made it possible to read faster?

Upgrading a home network to Wi-Fi 7 will cost almost as much as the phone. 6 GHz is good but its range is even less than 5 GHz, so you need several access points in a medium to large house. Today you could spend $800 or even $1,200 on the upgrade plus the cost of pulling Ethernet cable to the access points (you REALLY want to use wire for this.)

Eh? This is old news surely, Mac Rumors is seriously behind the times. I am expecting to only be reading iPhone 17 Pro leaks and rumours by now!

Assuming Netgear will have an Orbi system that will support wifi 7 by then, it'll be time to upgrade from my current set of 850's (wifi 6). 👍

I'm truly waiting for Wifi 7 on MacBooks. I already have a 10gb network at home via switch, which my server and desktop is connected to. To be able to wirelessly read & write to my server at (or near) the same speeds of being physically connected would be a game changer for me. All I would need is a Wifi 7 router, and I'll be good to go.

I'll wait till to hear what the iPhone 17 will have. I'm guessing rumors start next week since we pretty much know the 16 at this point. And the 15 is ancient.
Well, maybe not ancient, but I don’t expect much from the regular 15s… it’s going to be an iPhone 14 pro with an aluminum body, two cameras instead of three, and no pro-motion.

My hype is on the 15 pro and the A17.

Next year's iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models should feature Wi-Fi 7 support and an upgraded 48-megapixel Ultra Wide camera lens, according to Jeff Pu, a tech analyst at Hong Kong investment firm Haitong International Securities. Pu revealed this information in a research note about the tech industry released today.
Funny how we can speculate about the iPhone 16 after the next iPhone 15 when it hasn't even been announced yet (Sept). Neither the 48 MegPixel wide angle camera or WiFI 7 networking improvements really benefit consumers IMHO. The first requires more storage/Ram in a iPhone, the second requires the consumer to invest in new WiFI 7 technology before widely deployed and evaluated. Even with WiFI 6E out there most of your everyday gear is still not using that, so WiFi 7 probably won't be utilized quickly unless Apple senses a lot of consumer interest.

WiFi 7 is just 6E or 6 or 5 for most users. Your mobile browser has to process a bunch of cache and cookies and it will always be the bottleneck. If it does that on 5, it will do that with 7.
Take it easy guys.
