Please no top center camera. It looks ugly on the pixels.

Also, why is it 2024 and the selfie camera is still so low res.

It would be a game changer if we could get near similar qualities between front and back cameras.

Granted I use Snapchat usually for selfies but still.
A higher res selfie camera would likely enhance blemishes, wrinkles, etc. so it’s actually in Apple’s best interest to keep it lower res.

I think iPhone Ultra is going to be another level of premium:

Think everything you'd get in an iPhone Pro. But then combined with cutting edge battery tech and high-end materials for the chassis.

This will give you the same Pro-level specs and features as iPhone Pro but at a much lower weight and size, and perhaps even a more durable design.

Then they'll probably also reintroduce leather cases. But this time make them really high quality and only available for Ultra.

Consumers haven't been shy with buying Pro Maxes. So there's probably a solid demography for something even more expensive and higher-end.

I know that picture in the article is just some artist's "concept render," but I gotta say... I like to think Apple has better designers than whoever is working on the Pixel 9's camera bar 😩

You and a few others will be wetting themselves when the iPhone 17 looks like that next year, happily forgetting how you mocked Googles design.

Apple does not ship standard "120Hz" screens that are low quality (but everyone thinks are great) just because those screens have a fixed rates of 48-60-120 Hz (sometimes 90).

Have you tried budget android phones over the past few years? I understand it might be harder to get your hands on them if you're in the US. They are not "low quality (but everyone thinks are great)" screens. They are 'very good and flagships screens are not much better' screens. If the iPhone 16 doesn't have 120Hz, that's pretty poor for what will be an $800 or so phone in late 2024, don't you think?

It will sell like hot cakes

(Because all iPhones do)

I already have a thin phone because I use a thin case, not a chonky body armor. I don't have normal hand so all the Pixels for example are too thick and heavy for me once I slap on even a thin case. I suspect there are lots of women and teens with normal hands who would enjoy something very thin and light, battery be damned

Apple needs to start modeling the "Ultra" the same way they model the ultra watch; durable, very waterproof down to 50+ ft, dust proof, long battery, outdoor capable screen, metal around the lip around the edge of the screen, etc.

If they ever even release an Ultra iPhone, which I have my doubts about.

8GB devices will not get „Apple Intelligence 2“.
This

The 15 and 16 series are clearly not made with AI in mind, its being forced on them because they got caught with their pants down on the AI push in tech right now.

I will guarantee the 17 series will have 12GB minimum while Google is already giving the Pixel 9 series 16GB RAM for on device AI this year.

I can't believe Google is now future proofing better than Apple right now.

I think Apple coming out with a new premium option is maybe their best bet for more sales. Apple has struggled with the "fourth option" in their iPhone lineup. As much as this board loves the Mini, it was the least popular phone in the lineup, and the Plus, created to replace it, is also currently the poorest-selling. As I've said before, the Pros are popular, and the base model is popular since it is the cheapest, but it's difficult for there to be a compelling fourth option. One thing's for sure, people like having the most expensive flagship model. So redefining what the "flagship" is seems like it could be a winning strategy for them.

My bet is a rebrand to the Apple Phone.
Next years iPhone SE will live on. After that there will be the Apple Phone (2025) (6.5 inch or whatever) with the last iPhone Pros then Apple Phone Mini (2026) (5.9 inch or whatever).

And it will have a under-display-camera for an all screen display.

This is one of my favorite renders of what Apple would do if they went with this design. And honestly I like it, you can’t keep the same layout forever.

The M4 in my new 11" iPad Pro actually has a 12GB ram with 6 GB disabled. Apple might be able to turn on the other 6GB when AI starts?

So the "17" series coupled have a bigger ram chip because it is cheaper.....
Or they start selling 12GB versions later.
