The Watch does handle 24hrs, in spite of the official rating when seems pretty conservative and artificial. I wear my watch every night for sleep tracking and then charge up in the morning. My S7 generally has about 25% of charge left. Most nights I also put it into theater mode as I don’t like the screen glowing or coming on as I move around. That saves about another 10%. That is with a workout most days. My previous S4 actually did better on battery.

i do wish that they would give it about 50% more battery just to give it a buffer and because sometimes i forget to charge in the morning and have to charge at the office later.
Mine doesn’t and I also use it for workouts 🏋🏻‍♀️. After that it can’t hold up for a whole day. Workouts seems to eat some big chunks of battery life.

If the upcoming Apple Watch X can’t hold up for a whole day (workouts included) its exit Apple Watch for me.

€ 495,- for a smartwatch that can’t handle workouts and time for 24 hours is an embarrassment.

OMG….we don’t even iPhone 16 yet, we do not need these iPhone 17 vapor rumors 14 months before release
The rumors about the iPhone 17 are there because the iPhone 16 has nothing noteworthy compared to the 15.

It’s so sad and embarrassing for such a wealthy company Apple is. But Timmy and his shareholders care more for 💴 than giving their customers bang for the buck.

I think Apple coming out with a new premium option is maybe their best bet for more sales. Apple has struggled with the "fourth option" in their iPhone lineup. As much as this board loves the Mini, it was the least popular phone in the lineup, and the Plus, created to replace it, is also currently the poorest-selling. As I've said before, the Pros are popular, and the base model is popular since it is the cheapest, but it's difficult for there to be a compelling fourth option. One thing's for sure, people like having the most expensive flagship model. So redefining what the "flagship" is seems like it could be a winning strategy for them.

But were people clamoring for more options? I mean you could say the iPhone SE is their fourth option.
I think the current matrix is enough.

But Tim seems to want to cover every price point especially if it involves a high margins like a high end Ultra model.

Only way that we are going to see an Apple slim iPhone is if Apple has developed a new battery technology. Keep in mind that 3/4 of the inside of the iPhone is the battery. So Apple would have to implement better battery technology to save space

if slim equals less battery life (which it will) then they are going the wrong way
They’re making this phone for those who want an ultra-light, portable device— not for people like me who want the absolute best battery life for photography and functionality, etc.

I just can’t get over how much the “Slim” nomenclature makes this sound like a new cigarette 🤣

I've owned pretty much every generation of iPhone from the 3G up through the iPhone 15 Pro... I carry my phone everywhere with me in my jean pockets... never once have I thought "I wish this phone was thinner."

This slimmer iPhone is probably just the next iPhone. I would say this is not potentially the "Ultra". The Ultra, based on the slimmer iPhone 17, will actually be 💪 ultra 🦾 and not just a marketing gimmick like Samsung Ultra 🤡.
Erm sorry, explain how Samsung Ultra is just a “marketing gimmick”?

What many of us want is a smaller (not thinner) iPhone with all of the newest features.
This “many of us” is like 5 or 6 people that are constantly whining about big phones on Macrumors….. in reality nobody wants tiny phones any more. They didn’t sell and Apple stopped making them…. In fact they went even bigger, so what does that tell you?

If this is going to be the new top end iphone, why only 8GB of RAM? Apple Intelligence needs 8GB minimum, so why not make the "ultra" iphone more future proof?
Maybe the 1 TB model will have more RAM. ;)

I am confused which way to go, I always have been a pro user since the X.

I might have to wait and hope that the Pro models will get a redesign next year, or for the iPhone 18 pro max.

There is a typo in your last paragraph. In the sentence, "suggesting that the device would become the ew highest-end model in the lineup,", the word "ew" should be "new".
You are not placing your commas or periods correctly.

My Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen gets two days of battery life. Even after two days I still have 40% battery left.

Because Apple wants more $$$ from us in that future.

Besides, haven't you heard? 8GB of Apple RAM is like 16GB of PC RAM. And 'with the new innovations of iPhone slim, 8GB of RAM is like 24GB of PC RAM." 32GB! 32GB! Do I hear 32GB??? ;)
Not only does 8GB of RAM on the new iPhone feel like 24GB of RAM, but its costed like its 24GB of RAM sold at a premium.

Samsung just wanted to use the name Ultra before Apple and they also watered-down the name "Ultra". Their "Ultra" is just a better spec'd S24 with square corners.
Samsung have been using Ultra for years now. And the AW “Ultra” is just a better spec’d AW, what’s your point?
