i ordered the tank for my air 3 times, canceling twice. i’ve had it on the phone for three days. i don’t notice the weight. it’s wider then my other protective cases (mous and pr) but when i look at the side, it still looks thin like the air unlike the mous that makes me think i have my 16 pro again. i get that everyone doesn’t like the look, kinda to me like a case in the times of star wars. but in the hand, it’s my favorite. i can hold it comfortably and find the grip from the back design is great. i think it might just end up being my main case.Guilty as charged.
oh i forgot to mention that the apple air battery pack fits perfectly and the curves from the camera surround looks like it was designed for it.
and kinda cool that it seems like the buttons are made in canada. im not sure about the case but the button pack has a sticker saying made in canada. im not canadian but i like the idea of not manufacturing everything in other countries.

Phone rebel gen 7 is in. Not overly impressed tbh. The weave has a textured feel, which is nice, but the buttons rattle badly and the top tpu is looser than I figured.
They should have extended a poly frame up and around the plateau like Mous. The Air version, even with its precise cutouts, is also a bit squishy at the top.
I am surprised because Phone Rebel cases normally have a tight fit. Tee's mentioned in his video that the top of the case is loose when you pull on it.
At least Amazon has easy returns. I only noticed the top being kind of loose while trying to remove the case. Seems like the case will bend backwards right under the metal camera plateau area. Otherwise, I really like the case.
The Air version is the same, it flexes the most just below the plateau. It’s not a deal breaker, but it is a weak spot that is surprising considering their typically very rigid designs.
Speaking of deal breakers, as much as I like the Gen 7 for the Air, I’m probably going to return it. At 50 grams it’s just far too heavy for that phone.

Yup. Mous has managed to deliver a more rigid and protective case that is 10 grams lighter.
Been in the frosty for a few days now. No complaints tbh, love the look. Kickstand comes in handy. Top is tighter than my skinny jeans, for those that spend their time pulling on the top of their regular gen 7 worry no more. Branding doesn’t bother me at all, honestly even with the gen 7 regular for me in rating. If only they would bring back the glossy gen 7. It was my favorite
I just wish they’d added the logo in at least one more place on the back.
Don't do it man. Just save the credit for their overrated case for the next gen. 😉
I would probably feel the same way. The Air was designed to feel like it...
It's been hit or miss. Some fit really well, others fit too loose. Just hope you get one that fits well. If not, get in touch with Pitaka and they may send you a replacement
For me it doesn’t. A black precise Sheath with silver iPhone makes it look stealthy.
So, having tried way too many cases (though not all 😈) this year, I’ve now settled on a current personal Top Five. (I have the silver 17 Pro. The experience on a Pro Max might differ).

- 1: I’ve struggled a bit with that, but I think I have to give it to the Mous Limitless. If it were a bit more rounded and comfortable overall, it would be the absolute GOAT for me. It‘s probably still beating every other case I have here when it comes to protectiveness.
- 2: Beats Rugged. Don‘t think I have to say much about it. It‘s decently protective, grippy, fits like a glove but is easy to install and remove without any sharp edges. Perfect case for a serial case changer. Wish it came in more fun colors.
- 3: Phone Rebel Gen 7: Just took it off after over a week on my phone. Still like it a lot but I‘m not trusting it to be as protective as No. 1 and 2 on this list somehow (though it probably is). It just feels almost minimalist and snaps on like a thin Aramid case (way easier to remove though). Also wish it was a bit more grippy. MagSafe is craaaazy strong (struggled to get it off my ESR car mount). Notes: The metal camera ring is already showing some slight wear even though I’m always handling the phone like a raw egg. And after removing it after over a week, there was some detritus under the slightly loose top part...
- 4: Dbrand Grip: Unique looking with the added option to personalise it. Tight fitting rigid case. One has to struggle a bit to get the phone in and out of it. Not sure how protective it is. It is a hard plastic shell without soft lining or additional shock absorbing material. Also: the integrated buttons with slits are a downside.
- 5. Wiiuka Skiin: I wish this was a rugged case. It would be perfect. The nicest feeling case I have. Soft leather with very soft lining, clicky aluminium buttons. Half covered camera plateau. Comes from the same factory as the Bullstrap cases.
- Apple Silicone: Perfect fit, has the usual silicone problems though. Gets greasy and chips easily. Also don’t like the squishy buttons.
- Apple Clear Case: sooo nice to hold, phone feels like a smooth pebble with it. Fits the aesthetic of the silver pro. But not very protective, has a loose fit in places that lets in a lot of dust and it’s still a pain in the a** to remove it.
- Phone Rebel Air 2: Beautiful minimalist, affordable case. Redundant for me now that I have the Gen 7, because that is basically a more protective version of the Air 2.
- ESR Hybrid Clear Case: Solid, comfortable, very affordable clear case with strong MagSafe.
