Oh, the bittersweet irony…

Hot take having seen lots of pics of both precise cases (mainly sheaths) and open cases:

  • Silver is the best for open plateau cases and the worst for precise cases (looks unattractive with the silver rings showing)
  • Orange is okay (but not the best) for open cases, but joint-best for precise cases (nice contrast)
  • Blue is the worst for open plateau cases but joint-best for precise cases (as it blends quite well into the lenses)

So I suppose orange is the best colour choice for cases overall and blue the worst, with silver the best middleground.

does the corners of the case pop off easy? damaged my past 14 pm with a silicone case when its corner popped off after a drop

No, but its definitely more of a minimalist case than protective case. With how fragile the 17 Pro aluminum is, I wouldn't trust it for drop protection, especially if it lands on a corner or the front. There's isn't much of a raised lip.

Here’s my hot take on your hot take: Neutral phone colors are the best because they go with any case color.

Silver is safe, deep blue is sophisticated, cosmic orange flamboyant

I agree here. I had a hard time choosing between the silver and deep blue this year. I usually get black or space gray phones so ended up with the blue as it was the closest. Orange although very cool, is just not my thing. Never been a big fan of the color orange in general.

The deep blue is more of a charcoal blue that makes sense.

I got the silver because for me a space gray is like a counterpart. If space gray was available I would have gotten it.

I dunno, just think specifically for the 17 with the plateau, I've yet to see a precise case look great with the silver rings showing, whereas the blue and orange camera rings look good in most precise cases.

I'm a silver owner myself, waiting for my 'open' sheath. Open back is different, I think silver looks great and as you say goes with anything - the orange and blue less so when more of the phone is showing.

Any other previous iPhone generation without plateau, I agree, neutral colors always look best with any type of case.

Each to their own I guess, I've changed my mind so many times this gen.

Yep! And why I ALMOST got the silver. I was in the Apple Store on launch day waiting for the associate to bring my deep blue out to me and was so close to changing my mind and have them get the silver instead. Driving home I questioned my decision. Overall I’m happy with the blue.

How are you liking it? Does it feel bulky? How’s the weight? Also is there any discount codes?
yes like it out of all cases I tried (Spigen Enzo Aramid, TechWoven and MOFT Movas) ..

it is not bulky (feels lighter than abovementioned cases) ... it should be around 30g

Im not aware of any discount code unfortunately

Got the RhinoShield Solid X (black) for my silver 17pm.

Solid overall. Great fit and buttons, not slippery nor overly grippy.

The material is interestign and I’ll be interested to see how finger printing becomes an issue.

Also- the MagSafe is the strongest I’ve seen thus far.
