To get real about drop protection, I believe it’s important to understand how most tests are conducted. Typically devices are dropped onto flat surfaces, traditionally plywood. So a 6-foot “military” drop rating doesn’t tell you much about how a device might fare when dropped on uneven surfaces such as rip rap along the bank of a river (for example). If you’re only ever walking on plywood (half kidding), then a 6-foot drop rating should suffice. If you do other, more risky, things out in the real world, you may need to look at a case more critically and consider how issues such as flush sides, <1mm lips, back flexibility, etc. severely limit the amount of protection provided, regardless of what the marketing department says.I’m surprised you like the Mous so much. I don’t need that much protection. The likes of the Sheath are plenty for me for chest high normal drops.
