The green is definitely darker than I would have liked but at least the patina will look decent. The techwave colorway looks good new but does not patina well at all. Red will also only be used on nights out lol cus that thing patinas like canelo after the fight

I just saw the beats iPhone Air cases. I did know those existed. I like those cases where the bottom edge is not there. It makes it easier to scroll up. I may take in my bumper into the Apple Store and exchange it for the beats case. They show in stock now.😖
Just so you know I ordered one of those in Granite Gray.

I returned it, it’s slippery in hand and just feels like hard shell plastic with no character, just a boring overpriced case in my opinion.

Also it’ll be a fingerprint magnet unless you go with Lime Stone which will be the best at hiding fingerprints.

Just sharing my point of view, you might actually like it though.

With the big island bumps on all the phones but the 17's. All the cases look horrible like different colored minions View attachment 2549476
Ha! I see that or Among Us. Can’t unsee it! 🤪

I’m not a case guy - greatly prefer the no case experience. Over the years, I’ve tried all kinds of cases. The past several cycles, I’ve been ordering the ultra thin ones from Totallee that I use for instances that might be a bit more rugged (like camping). Otherwise, 99% of the time it’s no case. That was until my 16 Pro. That’s when I discovered Atom Studios’ snap backs (or whatever they call them). It’s just a thin, flat, rigid back that connects to the device via MagSafe. For me, it still offers a fairly naked feel (no sides, no front lip) but gives me a layer of protection when sitting the device down on surfaces. I’m shocked how much I’ve enjoyed this solution - granted, I am a sucker for magnets. Anyway, Atomic Studios was bought by Matter and I’m not digging their options. Suti makes a similar product called PhoneBack.

Anyone know of another vendor offering similar solutions?

Thanks.

(the slimmer the better) and it was t until my 16 Pro that I finally found the “case” for me.

has my fav “case” to date. It’s a snap back from Atom Studios

Need some case advice: I’m going with the Sheath this year, but looking for a case for my wife. iPhone 17 Sage. She wants more protection than the Sheath but not something super bulky. On her 12 mini she liked the Caudabe Synthesis and an Otterbox Slim. I’m not seeing either of those for the 17 and the color options for the Paragon are slim picking, plus I read those get all scratched up. I don’t think the Apple Silicon would cut it either - I don’t think those are any more protective than the Sheath. I looked at Spigen but those seem either super minimal or only in black or gray. Not looking for a kickstand case either.
Basically looking for grippy sides and probably a hard polycarbonate back. Am I missing something obvious?

Picked up a blue TW case today - Apple Store in Grand Central in nyc had them available for sale (but not for display, til Friday, oddly) - looked like all colors were in stock based on the salesperson (are they still called geniuses?) scrolling thru her iphone

I don’t have experience with FW cases, but this TW one seems nice. Not in a luxurious sense tho. Feels like suitcase material 🤷🏻‍♂️

Have a Sheath on order and an otter box symmetry as well, so we’ll see
Yeah, like the phones, they won’t change out any accessories or wall signs / decor until Thursday after store closing.

Otterbox leather cactus sounds like it fits your bill. It’s like a tougher sheath but still pretty compact

Just received the Apple TechWoven case in purple and I can tell straight away that it's a much better quality than the FineWoven.
It's got a hard nylon feel to it and feels good in the hand. Also has aluminium buttons from the old leather cases.

May also get the green one

Some pics and a side by side with the Apple silicone in terra cotta. And a quick scratch test video

I use minimal cases like Pitaka Ulta-Thin and Arc Pulse. The phone back concept is new to me. I ordered the Suti phone back in alpine orange silicone for my 17 pro. I’ve read great things about it. Check out the reviews on the product page and YouTube. I am very excited to try it. The other one I’ve read about is the Nomad magnetic leather back. Leather is not my first choice and it uses a microsuction attachment which is meh in my opinion.

I probably won't, but still want to keep the option of buying that cross-body lanyard thing.

It seems to need cases with lower-corner cutout attachment points.

The Nomad cases look cool, and I saw they do sell a strap but it's a wrist strap. I don't see the point of those.

I really like the Decoded case, but the story about not putting metal on the platter according to the technical documentation makes me doubt it.

Does anyone know when phone rebel will have the new cases available for sale ? Hopefully before next year 😆

Ringke sells a nice shoulder strap lanyard that’s worth taking a look at, same function as Apple’s cross-body lanyard with different color options as well. Definitely a more affordable option in comparison to Apple’s offering and quality looks good plus I would say Ringke is a trusted brand.

Any experience of this Torras case:

Coupled with this wallet: https://torraslife.com/products/leather-minimalist-slim-wallet

Logic is that I wouldn’t need the Ostand case and can use the wallet as a stand when required.

Last year they announced them on 9/15 , so hopefully an announcement this week and hopefully we get the rebel gen7 first since it was the first one with pictures on their website. I think last year the first one was the flex

Looks like their will be no shortage of shoulder straps:

Phone backs rule. Interested to hear what you think. Congrats on the 17 Pro.
